Forums - Gaming - Why is COD Ghosts Online so laggy on the PS4?

I have recently bought a PS4 (again) after selling it back in January. Long story short I went to Best Buy bought a copy of COD: Ghosts came home fired it up and immidiately started playing team deadmatch.. The first few games were alright but then it started getting so laggy and unplayable. And no It's not my internet connection because I also own an Xbox One and play Ghosts and Titanfall on it and I never experienced any lag.   PS, I have also tried playing FIFA 14 and Madden 14 on PS4 and the're also very laggy online.

Why is this? Sony needs to fix this, I mean after all they are charging us to play now.

I trust no one, not even myself.

I don't believe you bought a PS4 given your post history.

I don't really believe you.  I have played COD since Modern Warfair, and it is always a lagfest on every console I have played it on.

Have you checked you're internet connection?

"Call of Duty: Ghosts / 7 Oct 2013 Call of Duty: Ghosts to Use Dedicated Servers on All PlatformsShare. Player-hosted matches will also be supported.
By Scott Lowe→In August, Microsoft announced that Call of Duty: Ghosts would feature dedicated servers on the Xbox One, marking a significant departure from the franchise's long history of player-hosted matches. But what about other platforms? According to a recent tweet from Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin, Call of Duty: Ghosts will utilize dedicated servers across current-gen, next-gen, and PC.

Call of Duty Ghosts Squads Trailer
02:39TrailerWhile Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, PC, and Wii U players will all seemingly be able to reap the benefits of dedicated servers, Rubin also confirmed that Ghosts will preserve player-hosted matches as well:

Ghosts will be using a hybrid system of dedicated servers and listen servers. So no matter where you are the game will always be trying to give you the best online performance possible. There is also some great new tech in the matchmaking system that will place players in matches that have the best combined overall connectivity performance.

What remains unclear is how much control, if any, players will be afforded over matchmaking, such as the ability to filter matches by server type."

I also read somewhere that PSN is still using the trusty old servers but they switch them out every two years. The new servers being installed are considerately more powerfull and will be switching to these new "super servers" in october for the PSN.
