Update: Seems like what they have in mind are new characters, weapons and scenarios!

Hyrule Warriors development is complete, and the game has now been released in Japan. However, Koei Tecmo doesn't intend to end its support anytime soon. On the official Japanese Hyrule Warriors Twitter account, a message posted states that the game will receive long-term updates and a large-scale mode expansion.

“New information to commemorate the release. Hyrule Warriors is a “festive Zelda title” that was made with much effort.
In order to have you folks enjoy it for longer, we’re currently planning long-term updates and a large-scale mode expansion.
We’ve received a few bug reports, so we’ll be working on that as well. For these reasons, the development staff will be working in the midst of Obon (Japanese holiday). Keep it a secret from everyone!”

Expansions ? I think they mean DLCs.
Anyways, DLCs or not I am glad and hope they offer DLC(s) like Pikmin: u get a free mission out of the 4-5 missions.

Its Omega force after all, so prepare to have a LOT of dlc costumes for every character and also a couple of missions added.

That aside,I hope they make new characters from other zelda's

Maybe they'll add more characters!? That would be awesome! I still want Groose in my game.

I feared this. Costume pack DLC as far as the eye can see.

All I ask is that worthwhile DLC is created (new characters, modes, etc) while remaining a reasonable price.

Maybe some Wind Waker or Majora's Mask stuff.

I'm not really hyped for Hyrule Warriors, but will play it at some point. I wonder if there will be a complete edition in the future.

My hopes about reasonable pricing aren't high because they already did 3 different preorder DLCs.

I really hope we get some MM/WW characters as DLC, because I would LOVE to play as the Skull Kid and heck even Tingle!

A complete edition? Actually seems very possible, but would ultimately suck for me as I dont like to buy the same game in different versions at full prices. I could buy them on sale but special editions kill me.
