Forums - Sony - Share Play limited for 60 minutes.

INFO Gameblog. Live from Gamescom, we just met Jim Ryan PlayStation Europe for an interview. Pending the full version, here is a very fresh information about the famous option "Share Play" Sony announced yesterday during the conference!

indeed, we have raised the question of the limits of such a system, offering a player does not have a game to play anyway if a friend PS + member has it, and here is the answer to Jim Ryan:

There is a limit, which is incredibly generous in my opinion: it is 60 minutes Also, if I am a PS + member and not you, I invite you to play even if you're not a member. PS +.

However, if you want to play against me, competitive, you have to be PS + member.

But can we boost several sessions of 60 minutes at a time?

In principle it is 60mn, that's all I can say for now.

....and there's the catch.

But seriously, 60 minutes per session and something like one session per day that would still be pretty decent, if it's really just one 60 minute session then that's only good to demo the game.

i doubt it would be just 60 minutes for once, forever. i think it wil be 60 minutes every 24 hours. which is pretty sweet if you ask me. this isnt a standard or anything, its an extra feature for playing with friends.

Even if it's only 60 minutes per pair of friends, I can still see some skilled players developing a neat little business by charging for trophies to the unskilled, rich and lazy gamers.
There is market for it, I'm sure...

Even if, it stil wouldn't be something that people could complain about, what would they say? "Fuck you Sony for not giving me unlimited free digital access to all the games my friends own"? Yeah that wouldn't be entitled at all.

Either way it's a cool feature, we'll just have to see how far it actually reaches.

Its very understandable, and 1hr is still plenty really and enough to try out a game for free.

Add me if u want :)

It's very fair if it refreshes every day.

I wonder what the other publishers and developers think of this and how they will avoid abuse of the system.

Don't copy random editorials.

You'd be surprised...

I did wonder about the idea that some games wouldn't even allow it. It's all well and good saying "Just invited your friend." but it's it's not a 2 player game or isn't co-op then you can't do it but that's understandable. Then I thought, does that mean someone could play the entire game if it's co-op? This means no. The game industry would not allow a person to play an entire game for nothing, when 2 copies could be sold. But it does help sales overall. A friend can invite another to have a go of the game they bought, like lending it but digitally and limited.

Eitherway, while nice, doubt I'll ever use it.

Hmm, pie.
