It spawned a hellfire of games that have tried to attract the same demographic of people.

So?

Cool. I would kill Halo, Gears and Forza just because. Also Mario and Zelda. I would leave Sony alone. Yes, I am evil.

A franchise...A franchise you monster

Oh I saw people mentioning multiple franchises so I just went along with it. Hmm...Halo then for the fun

The One and Only

VizionEck.com

Since I can't choose Madden...

MS Fable

So?

Halo Reach + 4 multiplayer and Resident Evil 6 were considered far from their franchise's roots. Almost killing their fanbases. Mainly because they wanted to be more like COD. Reach and 4 in a loadout, perk way and Resident Evil in a too much action way.

Nintendo - Wii series

And now I've lost you. First it was about COD and now it's Halo and RE? I don't get your point anymore.

Also, I don't believe in the concept of "ruining a franchise". You can ruin one game or even all future games but you can't retroactively ruin all the games that came before.

I was giving you examples of the "hellfire of games that have tried to attract the same demographic of people"

Sony, GoW. The ending for three was perfect IMO no need to stretch the series out anymore.

Ah, ok. Now I get it.
But COD was always attracting the same demographic. You can hardly blame it for other games suddenly shifting direction because of its success. I'm pretty sure the people behind the game never even wanted other games to go in that direction. So it's actually on your side^^

Sony: Killzone (Give up on the franchise after shadow fall)
XB: Halo (IMO a very overrated franchise)
Nintendo: SMB
