Forums - Gaming - I'm just happy that a console finally implemented a media player

Super excited that the Xbox One can now play media files like .mp3, .mp4 and .mkv. Was really disappointed that it wasn't a feature at first on any of the consoles, but better late than never!

I can finally play movies on my TV without plugging in my laptop ;_;

Oh nice, I was really disappointed when I couldn't put in my music in while playing Ground Zeroes, if it hasn't already, hope it comes to PS4 soon as well.

Thats so awe- Wait, they didnt have this yet? Considering the ps3 can do that already, I am surprised it didnt come at launch loll

I know, right? How hard could it be to make a simple media player?

At least be able to play mp3s, I mean c'mon!

I am happy too, at least it means that sony now knows what the least its own media player would have to do. I expect the PS4 media player to be in firmware 2.0

Id recommend ps4 users getting music unlimited. Its the same price as spotify as my reccollection and has mostly the same stuff. Works really well on ps4 and can of course also be transferred to all the other devices

The problem is, I have almost 1000 songs in my collection, a lot of which aren't even available through Sony. I've actually considered purchasing a subscription for my PS4, but it's more like avoiding the issue instead of fixing it.
