Forums - Gaming - Is suing the gaming industry the new standard?

Is suing the gaming industry for false claims, the new standard. you have EA being sued over battlefield 4 being buggy as hell. You also have sony being sued over killzone not being 1080p. you also have gearbox and sega being sued over colonial marines. I also forgot about the NCAA videogame lawsuit. I can't forgot about the typical rockstar lawsuits, that seem to happen after each GTA game comes out. What the hell,is going on here? The only people that really win in these things, are attorneys. If you win one of these things, you usually only get a fraction of what your suing for. If more lawsuits like this keep happening,it's just going to run the gaming industry into the ground, then what? If game companies have to spend most of there time fighting off lawsuits and paying these outrageous attorney fees, then that just simply means less games that come out. that's pretty much already happening. what's going to end up happening is that game developers will still advertise there products, but your going to have pages of disclaimers,so they can protect themselves from this kind of thing. I've always envisioned a second gaming crash, but why make it happen sooner then it has to? thoughts? discuss?

If game developers starts showing killzone 2 or watch dogs type things this should be standard.

The NCAA lawsuit actually interests me. Ed O'Bannon's likeness is show on the cover of a game and he hasn't received a cent. Hope that he wins.

Ed O'Bannon has a valid reason for suing. The NCAA makes billions off of players, their likenesses, and their jersey numbers but if they take as little as a movie ticket from someone the player can lose everything. I don't see how Edo can lose this one. As far as the guy who's suing Sony because Killzone's not 1080p, he's just being an idiot and making a mockery of the already laughable legal system. It's things like these that make me sometimes think Jigsaw from the Saw films has a point (not that I'd go as far as he): Some people need to face serious problems in order to truly appreciate what they already have.
