i think there is no doubt that MK is a much bigger system seller than TF. however, MK is an established IP with a very strong fanbase and it is actually exclusive.

Let's add TLOUR to the comparison as well and see which one fared better..
Not surprising since one is a new IP while the other is a well liked and popular franchise
And there's always someone who has to bring ps4 into every thread

PS4, but only because is PS4.
TLOU isn't one sistem seller like Mario Kart.
This is Mario Kart we are talking about , so of course MK8 was the bigger system-seller! This shouldn't come off a surprise to anyone!

Or it has a higher install base... just saying..
Compare wiiu install base size when mk8 launched to the xbox one install size when titanfall launched.
Both are predominently multiplayer games (titanfall basically multiplayer only), thus number of existing uses has an effect.
Titanfall Xbox One had inFamous PS4 to cut off hardware sales early. Mario Kart was the only thing big until TLOUR came out. Also, Titanfall is a new ONLINE ONLY IP while MK8 is the Wii U's biggest established exclusive for 2014..
XB1 was already selling pretty well when Titanfall was released unlike the Wii U with MK8. Same goes for TLOU: Remaster. Comparing the boosts is a much better indicator of a system seller.
