Nope, I like Nintendo.

I dislike that since the Wii we get to play Nintendo's games on outdated hardware. Imagine Nintendo's best on PS4 level hardware. But, that's more hate for the harsh business realities that stop Nintendo from competing in the high end.

You realize that Nintendo's hardware has almost always had this issue, only their SNES and NES have been powerful in their given generations.  The N64 had the cartridge which had storage issues compared to the CD.  The Gamecube was like 33% less powerful than the Xbox and they came out the same month I believe.  The Wii was even further behind the curve, and the Wii U has continued the trend.

Doesn't have to be most powerful; it just has to be comparable.

The N64 & GC didn't feel like playing a good half generation behind.  N64 storage was an issue for the console, but graphically was more advanced than the PS1, with perspective correct filtered textures, double the RAM and expandable to quadruple.  The GC was a bit slower than Xbox but so was the PS2 and GC had more advanced shading than PS2.  It was not a mile behind anything.

Wii graphics have just looked ugly as heck at a time when HD took off, and with the whimsical "Mii" style Nintendo managed to make it even more ugly as if to prove a point that only gameplay matters.

Then Wii U, the good thing is that the graphics are not ugly at all, but it is still almost a generation behind the PS4 & XB1, and after a time when the generation was really really long.  We've been playing games of quality close to Wii U for almost 9 years.

It is totally regrettable that Nintendo is not able to just put out a similar spec console to Sony or MS, with no gimmicks and compete.

I hate the Wii but not Nintendo itself.

They should've made the wiiU a bit stronger and not region locked though, but overall, 'm quite pleased with the wiiU.

Currently playing

IOS - Knights of the Old Republic, Monster Hunter Freedom HD and Idolmaster Festa.

Steam-NovisNoah, Uplay-Limpanot, Origins-NovisNoah, PSN-NovisNoah, NNID-NovisNoah

Oh of course you didn't put a 'no' in that poll. How thoughtful.
This thread...and everything it stands for...

I don't hate Nintendo but I certainly don't think they are relevant anymore in the hardware business. There should be one unified hardware business like Blu-ray and all games should be accessible on it. I don't like exclusivity.

I voted yes.

The last time there was only one prominent, 'unified hardware' it sorta led to the video game crash of 1983.

There needs to be competition. A monopoly doesn't work. Competition ensures these companies actually have an incentive to deliever good and improved products. I don't like exclusivity either, but its necessary.

Im thinking more like the proliferation of Blu-ray players. Rather than a single manufacturer.

Don't even care if I get banned for saying this.
But you'd have to be outright retarded to want Nintendo to go bankrupt, nobody, anywhere, would benefit from Nintendo going bankrupt, All it would do is make the industry even more unstable and limit the range of games available to the average gamer.

Retarded, or spiteful, or both.
