Forums - Sony - GET YOUR GROOVE ON - BigFest announced for PS3 and PS4

"BigFest has been announced for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.The festival management and music discovery title for PS Vita will be ported to the home consoles as a free-to-play title.

The game, which has players create their own music festivals and promote real-life unsigned bands, will support cross-save functionality, allowing players to continue their sessions on Vita.

Developer On the Metal has enhanced the title for PS4, rendering it in the full 1080p resolution at 60fps.

"We want players to build the biggest, baddest music festivals they can possibly imagine, whilst discovering and promoting real musicians," said the studio in a blog post."Discovering top talent and selecting the best headliners are just a couple of the important responsibilities players will manage to get the all-important festival 'vibe' up!"

A release date for the home console port of BigFest is yet to be announced."

And now please port all the other Vita games. Thanks.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Sounds interesting, it being f2p is a cause for concern though...

I think FTP is this games biggest asset. What we have here is a game that promotes unsigned bands. That means lots of new songs and tunes to use in the Sharefactory, which then promotes them further. If Sony play this right, it could be a huge franchise with far reaching implications for any aspiring artists. There is absolutely no reason why you couldn't promote your own band or your friends bands.

Yeah but as someone interested in playing it it just makes me wonder how they are going to monetise it. It could be either a game worth playing or not, depending on how they do that.

I think it's designed as a promotional app and the only DLC will perhaps be the locations and stage settings, but those won't in any way hinder the heart of the game. Perhaps in the futrure, when there are bands that become successful because of this, you'll be able to download tracks (or even albums) to other audio devices for a small fee set by the artist.

Like I said, if this catches on, it could become the Youtube of unsigned bands.

Would rather have paid for it, won't bother if its f2p... just because they will need to generate revenue from it, and I don't like the f2p model.. shame.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

Ohh it's F2P? Sweet, now definitely gonna try it out.
Game is something different, and a good idea actually, but wouldn't have payed for it as I don't think it's something for me.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!
