OT: Amazing week for the PS4, I can't believe TLOU:R moved so much hardware. Destiny week is going to be monstrous!

i know if you read this, its really going to piss you off because i dont 100% agree with you, but i take issue with a few of the things that you said:

for point 1, you can apply that to any game. its not really unique to the last of us.

point 2, the last of us should be recommended to anybody, i agree. but thats not whats going on in this thread. if you read my two posts, what im saying i dont understand is how excited everybody is for this game coming out and the sales for it when they have all already played the game and know what its all about. and to use my example again, wwhd came out for wii u but i wasnt excited about it at all because i was looking forward to more original content. i played it, got everything there was to get, but i cant see losing my shit over it no matter how good of a game it is because.. well, ive already played it before and i know what its all about. i would recommend it to anybody who hasnt played it but i wouldnt say its worth getting a wii u over. it was nice to see it help sales a bit, and the bundle is a cool deal, but i just cant see myself, again, losing my shit over it like people are in this thread. i mean, i guess at that point, its just a difference in perspectives. a remake (especially of a year old game) in my opinion, doesnt warrant this kind of attention, and i dont understand. 

for the other points, i can actually see holding out for a ps4 because there are many other reasons to get a ps4 besides the last of us due to future titles. and the remastered version is obviously going to be better, so why not. therefore, i retract my statement about the ps3 because my statement assumes that the person would be buying the ps4 strictly for the last of us, which i dont think is the case for anybody.

again, im sorry if my post really is making anybody mad.. i know how attached to this game people are and doing anything but getting on your knees and praising it is hard for some people to understand, but i think it just has to do with my perspective on video games in general. i would never be excited for a game from another platform on a new platform UNLESS its a massive overhaul like a link to the past in the style of twilight princess.. something like that because the game would look and play completely differently. experiencing the best 2D zelda as a 3D zelda would be insane. barring some kind of insane overhaul like that, i really just think that the hype for this game is just a little much. ESPECIALLY because it just came out. the resident evil remake deserves way more hype than this, dont you think?

haha, going to save the link. You know, I do wonder why it's just so hard for some people to think that maybe, just maybe, people just don't want or care for the X1. Maybe it's just an undesirable product and no amount of games or price cuts will change that. I don't get how such a thing is unfathamable. 

I exagerated a bit saying that ~a million PS4s can be sold in September, but at this rate it looks even more possible. 

world wide? it can happen. it all depends on the Destiny week. but Destiny is on the 9th, so the boost will help it through the month and baseline will be higher. its a tough task surely though.
