Forums - Gaming - Don't you hate it when people buy a system, sell it, then rebuy it again?

Why is it annoying? Why is it anyone's business WTF someone does with a console?

BTW, I sold my Wii and plan to buy another one. Why? Because the game lineup from April-Nov of 2007 sucked balls and I basically rented the system for seven months and it cost me a whopping $40 to do so.

In situations like that, shuffling around systems sounds highly logical to me. If Nintendo drops the price to $199 this year and I buy another one, I'll actually be $10 ahead.

Personally I dont care. They're wasting THEIR money for being stupid. But yea, I'm like you: I keep all the games that I like because I know if I sell it I wont get nearly as much as I paid for it. Well that and I know Im gonna play it later on too.

well said mate, people are just too young and think they know everything.

i really dont like it when people do this.

- I am not talking about selling the wii for a profit, which i think is smart.
- I am talking about people who sell their 360 and then buy a ps3, thereby losing a few hundred dollars, then selling their ps3 after they've played all the games and buying another 360.

If instead you just buy the ps3 and 360 and never sell either, you save a lot of money in the long run. If theres a slow cycle of not much software, just wait till more games come out. Why would you sell the system just to buy it back again and waste more money when you could just let it sit on your shelf?

Wow, you earned maybe 10 bucks. Considering the effort invested in selling/rebuying a system, the gas used to transport the old Wii/ps3/whatever out and the new one in....

Yeah, I think I'll let mine sit on my shelf. Soriku has a very valid point here. It is annoying, and it is a hassle.

Obviously, every once and a while, you'll find a great deal where you can get rid of a system, make a profit, and get something you really want out of it...but that's now what Soriku is talking about here.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Soriku is talking about it annoying him that other people do this, not that it would be annoying if he did it. Like rocketpig said, why would it annoy you what someone else does with their own consoles? There are many valid reasons to do so, and we shouldn't have to just wait out the drought until said console decides they'll provide games of quality again. If that console had a constant stream of games, I don't think so many people would be doing it.

Yes, I find it annoying.

No,people can do with their systems whatever they want to.

My brother did that with the Wii, and my cousin did that with his PS360 once or twice before buying and keeping both. But for a few short weeks, there was a Wii just a few feet away from me. Until my bro got rid of it.

Considering the guy drove to my house and picked it up, gas cost me nothing.

As it stands right now, I owned a Wii for 7 months and it cost me $40 total to play it for hundreds of hours. When there was nothing left for me to play in the forseeable future, I dumped it and got almost my entire investment back on it.

Sounds pretty hassle-free to me. By the way, do you guys have nothing better to talk about than what others do with their possessions? For all you should care, I smashed the thing into bits and fed it to my dog.
