Best regular season game I've ever been to, my mom actually cried for maybe the third or fourth time since I've been alive when Manning broke the record. Last time I recall her crying was when Elway retired.

Don't think the Chargers are much of a thread now since they couldn't take care of KC on their home turf. Looks like in one way or another the Chargers, Patriots and Seahawks where all jinxed by ESPN First Take. Patriots where picked by both Stephen Smith and Skip to win the Superbowl can't see that happen. Skip said the Seahawks would go 15-1 that didn't happen and he also picked the Chargers to win the AFC which is now very unlikely to happen. |
...how does one pick two different AFC teams to win the Super Bowl and the AFC Championship?

Never underestimate the dumberer-ness of Skip Bayless lmao.
i could see a den-dal superbowl
last year game was sooooo good. would like to see that again...

51-48 or something. That was insane. It was a game of whoever scored last won the game. I was actually more impressed with Dallas in that game, considering that they were able to torch the Denver D last year in a way that nobody else came close to doing, while they actually kept pace with Denver on Offense. An L is an L, but if you lose to Peyton Manning and the Broncos by 3 points in a ~100 point game, you're at least doing it in absolutely epic style.
Couple of interesting notes on Peyton's record day:
Peyton broke Bret Favre's touchdown record in 56 fewer games and having thrown for over 5000 fewer yards and more than 1500 fewer attempts.
He has thrown touchdowns to 45 different players.

Awesome stats by Peyton, and I think hes definitely the best long-term QB of all time, hands-down.
I do think that his situation is helped a bit by the outstanding team he's had in Denver for the post-recovery era, whereas Favre didn't have that level of talent around him for many years (ever?).
PM > Favre
PM's surrounding talent > Favre's surrounding talent (arguable during PM's Colts timeframe)
Not really a dig at PM at all, he's an absolute legend, it's awesome that he's not stuck at some horrible place with ZERO talent around him. LOL imagine if he was QB1 for the Bucs or something like that. That would suck.

Rams lost this game in every way except stunt plays lmao. They just faked a punt, something I'm not sure when the last time I've seen work, and they had a half-faked fair catch earlier as well that was returned after the play looked to be over haha. |
That's Jeff Fischer's specialty. In fact, stunt plays are the only thing he knows how to coach anymore.

I know Favre has a lot of fans but, when it comes to complete quarterback play, I've always considered him to be overrated. Not his ability--when he was locked on he was unstoppable--but rather his decision making skills. The guy was a risk to throw an interception and give away a game at any moment and I can't begin to count how many "rocket" incompletions he threw to guys that were 5 yards away when a touch-pass would have resulted in a touchdown.
People talk about Peyton Manning's touchdown total but I think when we consider that Manning has more than 100 less interceptions than Favre, that's really where we see that he is a much better QB.
