@poll my choice goes to tanaka-kun, very chill series, the protagonist is so relatable and all the characters are just fun to watch. It was also one of the first shows me and versus talked about together, so there's that too

My choice for the poll is Usagi Drop. Really cozy anime, I loved watching Rin open up more and more as Daikichi learned how to be a caretaker. Super heart-warming story that I can recommend to anyone.

Yeah I'm aware of what happens in the source material, but this the Cool Anime Thread not Cloud's almost-as-cool Manga thread. *sticks out tongue*

Hinamatsuri ep. 2 was hilarious, I'm really liking this anime. I was cracking up at the girls' showdown, and Hina's friend being coerced into being a bartender. I wonder if that's illegal. XD Definitely keeping up with this one.

How is everyone else's seasonals going? Any changes from last week?

I've watched episode 2 twice so far and it was just as funny the second time.  The humor is so quirky, which is why I love the manga.  Nitta's reactions are just the best.

Hitomi is such a great character.  She's that capable classmate character you see in almost every anime/manga high school setting but the writer just takes that troupe and runs with it.  Like, if they are that capable, couldn't they do almost anything?  She's so normal but she's not actually normal at all.

I haven't sorted out everything I'm going to watch (or not) yet--I'm still browsing--but there are a few that I'm pretty sure about.

Hinamatsuri -- Love the manga, love the humor, love the characters. If the rest of the series is as funny as ep. 2 then it will be an A+ anime.

Golden Kamuy -- Probably the most interesting anime of the season. Has some real potential.

Amanchu! -- You know, Pikari is kind of hot ..

Uma Musume -- The humor is well written and the characters are fun. I'm on the Vodka bandwagon.

Piano Forest -- Main kid is kind of annoying but the other boy is interesting and so is Rei-chan. Nodame Cantabile is one of my all-time favorites so maybe this will conjure up some of the same magic.

Wotakoi -- Excellent manga, should be a fun series. It's a look at otaku from the inside and feels genuine.

Tada Never Falls In Love -- Kind of fun in a lighthearted way.

Comic Girls -- I like that it feels unique and moves at its own pace and with its own style.

Magical Girl Site is the only one to rate a "hell no" so far.

I recognized the intro scene from a manga image you posted. What a random way to start it, but it fits the style of the humor I guess XD

Looking forward to what Hitomi does next.

This has been my big surprise so far. Went into it with zero expectations, only that it was a rom-com and involved a blonde girl character. Both episodes had me chuckling quite a bit, I liked the photography show-down. Only worry is that it's giving me eight characters, and that 12 episodes won't be enough to properly flesh them all out.

This is probably common knowledge, but while it's an anime-original, apparently most of the staff for it worked on Monthly Girl's Nozaki-kun. I found that amusing, since I just watched that a few months ago. I can sorta see it.

If it gets even half as goofy as Nozaki-kun this should be a treat.

I watched the Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Story OVA a few days ago. It was pretty interesting, I liked the dark atmosphere that it gave at times, though it did kind of contrast with the cheesy 80s music! I believe it was an adaptation of the first novel, though unfortunately it seems that the 2nd and 3rd novels did not get OVAs.

That's it fellas, best guy this season confirmed.

Man, this show has been making me laugh more and more every episode. Making the cat's mental voice sound like a hard-boiled private eye was genius...every time he said something I was cracking up. I'll never look at Mao the same way. Dammit all XD

Hinamatsuri ep 3 - such a good girl

What the fuck 2018.

Plus some great two moms rep.

And today, a "Bloom Into You" anime adaptation was confirmed.

Another yuri manga I really like, this year has been amazing for me, and that is not even counting the extremely good shows with the good ol subtext to borderline ultra gayness and that would probably end on more spam image if I were to post all of them.

Truly the year twenty gayhteen.

Is that a trend eh? Has the genre gained significant popularity over the years? Especially compared to 90s and 2000s.
