Any good anime on amazon prime that anyone would recommend? I'm buying a futon and everything I need for it (excluding a tatami mat, went with a memory foam topper instead to put under it) off of amazon. I'm gonna do the free trial for amazon prime for the free shipping. Might as well milk the free trial.

Watch Made in Abyss if you haven’t seen it yet. I watched it last month and I loved it. One of the best anime I’ve seen in a while and my personal AOTY 2017.

Don’t let the cute artstyle fool you though...it can get pretty heavy. If you’ve seen Hunter x Hunter you can expect something like that in terms of tone, I see the two compared quite a bit.

Other good stuff on Amazon:

Land of the Lustrous
Girls' Last Tour
Bakemonogatari
Spice and Wolf
Princess Principal
Gurren Lagann
Yuki Yuna
Madoka

A pretty good selection actually.

I liked hunter x hunter alot. It's fairly deceptive with the characters being so young and the way they act sometimes then it would get serious all of a sudden. I'm definitely gonna check it. Do you think it's best to watch in chronological order or the other way?

I've seen a few of those. I'll out the ones I don't know. Thanks.

Made in Abyss? It's only one season of 13 episodes so you can watch it normally. A 2nd season was confirmed but it doesn't have a date yet as far as I know.

Winner of the Best Reverse Trap poll was...Naoto Shirogane!

I suppose was unfair including a video game character, but eh, she counts.

----------------

New poll to commemorate Black History Month...which ends in like 5 days...Best Black Anime Character

Japan might not be very racially diverse, but occasionally anime produces positive characters that aren't stereotypes (*looks at Dragonball*). Feel free to vote or post about your favorite black character or vent about how many anime treats blacks poorly or something.

Yeah I'm aware I flexed the definition a bit...and included characters with a dark skin tone of no particular racial make-up. I'm not gonna get hung up on what counts as black or not...only characters I'm really ruling out are fake tans and gyaru girls.

Also left Usopp off the poll. I'm aware Oda claimed he would be African in real life, but felt wrong including him for some reason. Maybe because no one can compare with him. You're free to vote for him as Other though.

Cool. I'll check it out.

 Aokiji from one piece.

I like the way he acts and his power. He's pretty badass.

Darui from Naruto
Kilik Rung from Soul Eater

Brock from Pokémon
Avdol from Jojo
Uub from DBZ

In that order.
Also Gamagoori has no place on that list.

Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda!!!!

Oh nice, good pick. Aokiji is awesome. Love his Japanese voice actor, he did a great job singing Ocean's Guide in the Z Movie.

The extra material confirms he's the son of an American soldier that was stationed in Japan, so he's mixed race. Seems like a fair assumption to me with his skin tone that he's intended to be black...or as much as it matters in the context of the question. As far I'm concerned, he fits just as well as any dark-skinned fantasy character of no specified race.

Unless you mean you just don't like his character...which is unfortunate but fair.

I enjoyed Dutch from Black Lagoon.

And idk if he counts but Tsume from Wolf's Rain.

Yourichi is cool but pretty meh throughout the anime after a few seasons.
