I could watch the first scene forever.

Just found out that the Seiyuu for Phos is the same as Kumiko from Hibike Euphonium. No wonder it's that perfect. I think we can conclude that Tomoyo Kurosawa is the best Seiyuu that has ever lived. She really needs more high profile roles.

Rewatching Robot Girls Z because it's so much damn fun and it always makes me wonder if Doublas M2 is the cutest villain ever.

I wanted to love Robot Girls Z but it's just no use if you don't understand all of the references. They should personify other stuff.

Waiting for the first Earth-chan anime.

Winter 2017

Spring 2017

Summer 2017

Fall 2017

I'll do my final list for the year sometime in the next few days. Unless I'm busy.

Alright! Finally finished my last few Fall anime, so I can make my year-end post in good conscience (despite me already posting my seasonal thoughts above...but whatever).

Final thoughts aren't much different from what I've been saying until now, which is obvious I guess. Imouto Sae ended in usual LN adaptation fashion, but was enjoyable overall. Blend-S was a cute show, a shallow one, but still a nice watch. I'd like both of these get second seasons...but we'll see. Also recommend that Net-juu OVA, for anyone that stopped watching at episode 10.

Kekkai Sensen was well animated, but overall...probably had the biggest shift from initial hype to only mild interest towards the end. The final arc was good, and it was overall well-animated, but with the standard tone being comedic or completely random, it was hard to really get invested in the conflict, or care about most of the characters. I guess you could compare this anime to a Marvel movie, for better or worse.

Anyways, here's my overall thoughts for the year. A LOT OF GIFS AND IMAGES INCOMING, BE WARNED.

Best Guy

Toshinori Yagi "All Might" (My Hero Academia)

Runner-Up: Shouto Todoroki (My Hero Academia)

Best Girl

Erina Nakiri (Shokugeki no Souma)

Runner-Up: Karen Tendou (Gamers!)

Best Villain

Chizome Akaguro "Stain" (My Hero Academia)

Best Ship/Pairing

Souma x Erina (Shokugeki no Souma)

Runner-Up: Keita Amano x Karen Tendou (Gamers!)

Best Bout

Deku vs. Todoroki (My Hero Academia)

Best Comedy

Gamers!

Best Studio

Bones

Best OP

Shinzou wo Sasagayo - Linked Horizon (Shingeki no Kyojin)

Best ED

Kono Te De - Rin Akatsuki (Ao no Exorcist)

AOTY Top 5

5. Tsurezure Children

4. Shokugeki no Souma - Season 3

3. Sangatsu no Lion - S1/S2 (yeah I'm cheating kinda)

2. Shingeki no Kyojin - Season 2

1.  My Hero Academia - Season 2

Overall, really solid year. Lots of continuations that kept my interest, and new anime that either surprised or disappointed, but overall I enjoyed it. Let's hope 2018 can top it....seems like most of my top shows are getting continuations, so I'd be surprise if it's not at least on par with this year.

Finally...thanks to everyone who keeps posting here despite the constant change in management, radio silence, and relatively few people that post here in the first place. You all rock, and I hope you all stick around.

Except for Cloud. That guy sucks.

Edit: Updated my top 5

I just learned that Miyuki Sawashiro will be the voice of Hanako in Love is Hard for an Otaku.

Exactly as it should be.

How anyone would ship Erina x Souma is beyond me. You're gonna have a war at your hand, mister.

Megumi x Souma for life, bitches!

So I watched Kokoro Connect S1 and the extra 4 episodes. Even though I lost internet for 3days, gotta get back into anime! Because wow that was boring.

The phenomenons definitely provoked interesting situations for the group. I definitely liked the first arc the most, and I honestly thought the whole show was going to be about it. I was surprised by how serious they took the anime, but accordingly the LNs are a lot more serious. It was a nice change of pace compared with most school anime. I was disappointed with the final arc because it focused too much on one character, but at least best girl won in the end. The villain was also quite an enigma, because he likes entertainment he is kinda like an anime watcher :P. I can appreciate grey villains over dark villains sometimes. I do feel like most of the characters got properly fleshed out, and none of them were boring.

Lastly ED 3 was great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9kAIlRUlO8

I liked Megumi before I read the manga, and realized she's basically the Krillin of the series. Now this shipping war isn't even fun to watch.

Alice or Hisako though...it's on!

I had my eye on this one, I think you or Cloud mentioned in the Manga thread. Is it airing next season or the one after?

Anyways, poll will end on New Year's Day, assuming I'm not too hungover to remember. Currently it's a tie between Made in Abyss and Attack on Titan. Better get your votes in now...lurkers with accounts that haven't voted!

Both of us talk about it.  It airs in Spring.  No fighting in it, though.

I like that it's about working adults rather than kids.  The female lead is a fujoshi otaku and the male lead is a gamer.  They're basically trying to date while dealing with the hobbies of the other party.  They even have a date where neither of them is allowed to reference anything otaku-ish.

Also, the main female is cute and her female friend with the glasses is really sexy.
