I decided to run with 10 nominations instead of 9, seeing as there's no point in having an "Other" option if people are nominating stuff anyway. Also gonna forego my own choice, even if no one else adds it, just since I'd rather give everyone else a chance to take part. Not a problem for me since I plan to do my giant wall of gifs at the end of the season anyway.

I haven't posted here in awhile because I am in the middle of doing finals for classes and haven't had the time to watch any anime. I am not even close to finishing all the 2017 anime that I will watch in 2017. I estimate I will watch at least 5 more shows before 2018 before I can truly decide on my AOTY.

However in case you don't get enough answers I will just early nominate Attack on Titan season 2 as the resident shounen fan. MHA season 2 if you need another :P.

Huzzah! Finally figured out how to get the poll to update. Turns out it saves every poll this thread has ever seen, and I had to delete every poll in order to create a new one with no previous votes entered. Kinda funny going through this thread's history...some of the old polls made me chuckle, some triggered me, and some just...confused me. In the end, I feel like I just gained all of Versy, Shad, and that first guy's powers my reading them all. 

Anyways, not really much hype for this poll now that everyone's seen it, but feel free to vote or talk about what you think is the most underrated anime this season.

For me, it's probably Imouto Sae Ireba Ii. Can sort of understand the low rating on that one, given a lot of the misplaced ecchi content and the god awful first few minutes of the first episode, but overall it's a nice comfortable show with some pretty relatable characters. Someone on one of my chats described it pretty well..."it's gold disguised as shit."

Overall tho, the anime that I can say without a doubt is definitely one of my top contenders this year for AOTY is something I never expected to reach to that level. Ballroom e youkoso or Welcome to the ballroom. It is fantastic!

Just saw this this morning. Hype! Knew MHA was coming (nice to have a date for that too), but had no idea what the plan was for Shokugeki. Supposedly it was reported that S3 would be a two-cour, but all the sources confirming it disappeared. Seems like it's a split cour...since it's coming out in only a few months, and the subtitle is still San no Sara.

Some of those frames...god damn my shipper heart is ready to explode. Hope Risa Taneda comes back as Erina. Kamemoto isn't bad, but she's missing a certain something.

I think it's just the anime that's popular to hate...I had issues with it, but it was enjoyable enough.

Is the MC more interesting this arc though? I thought he was pretty dull after the first arc. Also the pseudo-harem was unnecessary, the MC already has a girlfriend stop throwing girls at him.

Eh I mean...my favorite shows this year were also older ones I watched from my backlog, but that defeats the point of an AOTY poll. :P

Maybe we'll do a rolling GOAT poll after Christmas...I'll think about it. *ponders with his gigantic brain*
