Hm?  What about the punitive force and first Master Swordsman?

*Shrug* you'll have to ask the LN readers.

I mean, is that supposed to be the truth or is it a guess?  Because I thought of that but then I remembered what Otto said.

And I'm also trying to figure out why Ram and others didn't go crazy when Subaru was wheeled up in a wagon that had Witch Cult swords sticking out of it.

Because the white whale erases someone's existence when it eats/kills them.

Do we know if the Master Swordsman died, or if he was only defeated but survived? Maybe there is also a difference in the kind of death (eaten or killed another way for example).

But it is the power of the white whale, no doubt about that, it's also what happened to the merchant on the right of Subaru, who disappeared and everybody was like "What? No, there wasn't anyone on your right".

OH MY GOD, that twist, god dammit Danganronpa 3.

Just saw it too, huge twist even if some people were waiting for this character to show up. I have no idea how this will turn out... And I need to finish that game! ><

It would be weird for her to simply be the traitor, it's way too soon to reveal this. Also curious to see how the fights will end, and when exactly the next "night" will happen...

Also, I really wanted the "Miaya is actually Chiaki" theory to be true :(

EDIT:

The best theory is that she infiltrated the Future Foundation before without knowing anything about the killing game and got caught up in it!

Yea, the fact that it got revealed this early just scares me, who knows what will happen now, if she was indeed infiltrated in Future Foundation from before the killing game, that would mean there are 2 traitors, Monaka and the attacker (in case she isn't the attacker to begin with), tho she could have been the one that killed Gozu.

That's why I don't think she's the attacker. I don't believe that the Danganronpa staff would show us the culprit in the 4th episode. Seems like a decoy for the viewers to me, and the real attacker will be shown closer to the end. But yes, she could work with the real one...

New Mob Psycho 100 with a cool jojo reference. Totally not Josuke(and that Dora in the beginning)

...right?

Still doesn't beat Food Wars one though.

And I still want to know why people forgot Rem.

The White Whale is Gluttony, or at least an agent of Gluttony. It's said as almost little more than a passing comment around the beginning of episode 18, but as Gluttony (or an agent of), when the White Whale consumes, it consumes all. Flesh, muscle, bone, even existence. That said, facing the White Whale and losing does not necessarily mean being consumed. It very well could have been that the fog dispersed before the Master Swordsman and the entire punitive force could be completely consumed. From my brief reading, the Master Swordsman vs the White Whale is actually a decently important plot point, so in time, it's sure to be revealed in full. After all, it seems every important character who is masterful with a sword has some important role to play in the Re: Zero story.

That said, anybody expecting Subaru to do a permanent 180 into a permanently smart, capable, and not at all emotionally fragile protagonist, is probably expecting a little too much. That would be piss poor character development if your protagonist just did a permanent 180 shift and abandoned all factors that had led them to that revelation to begin with. Like when facing the Bowel Hunter, Subaru's confidence and certainty comes in spurts after many mistakes. Those mistakes may become fewer, but Subaru is ultimately still going to be Subaru.

Heh, my first thought was Metal Bat from One Punch Man, but looking at them side-by-side, I see Josuke a lot more. Especially with the open school uniform.

I suppose pompadour guys probably share some common inspiration though.
