Shirobako huh...never heard of it until now. Guess I should put it on my list as it sounds interesting and everyone here seems to enjoy it.

Let's just say I couldn't help it and put it on my coveted 10/10 list. A feat only 10 animes managed so far. That means it's the best that anime has to offer, especially for adults.

Damn, that good huh. I'll definetly give it a watch then.

Besides being really good, it's also notable because it can teach you a lot about the anime industry and how insane the schedule can be.  It's very informativie and it has a lot of references to real figures and events.

Just a few examples:

He directed Girls und Panzer, which was probably where part of Jiggly Heaven came from.

Shirobako also gave us this lovely lady:

Shirobako is also has an underlying theme that the best days of anime production are over. I already knew it was bad when Japanese animators go work in the Chinese/Japanese moblile gaming industry that have horrible freelancer conditions 70 hours of work a week and hardly have a good salary but that is better than what they have in the anime industry.

Shirobako is a good example it has 24 episodes a ton of people working on it (90)but they had to work on a budget of 4 million $, compare that to popular Western shows like the simpsons where the voice actors alone get 400.000$ for each episode and you probably end up with a total cost of an episode that comes close to a whole anime season serie.

Looks like the studio got some financial input from netflix for their newest production happy for them.

Can we all just admit that Re:zero is an amazing anime and most likely anime of the year, especially after episode 18?

I agree, and i hope we are getting seasson 2 since there are tons of things on the light and web novel. Material isn't a problem, they can make a seasson 2 easy next year.

This episode was amazing. Really few things happened and we had a lot of talking only, and yet it was one of the most impactful episode and I was almost crying at the end... For the first time in a while, I really hope he doesn't die this time and succeeds to move forward! I can't see any other anime at this level this year...

And now, can we allow the people who didn't vote for Rem for best girl to change their vote? They obviously clicked on the wrong button...

That "Zero kara hajimeru isekai seikatsu" at the end was an great finishing line, especially for the 18th episode...

Re: Zero 10/10

All that character development. Rem is best girl. I already knew that, but she is clearly not content just being in first place here.

This is just amazing :D
