Why would anything make sense? It's an action comedy. It lives from the dynamics between the character which I think are great. It feels fresh because you rarely get animes where the female MCs actually want to kill the MC instead of being just tsundere bitches.

When you have a story about a bunch of characters going through a perilous journey of world domination I would expect the comedic reliefs to be kept to a minimum especially in crucial moments ...

It's stupid on the author's part to keep flip flopping on the tone and atmosphere of the story in face of every characters determination ...

I guess it's just too hard for him to live to the greatness that's Future Diary, it's rather amazing how the very same author would spit out something so comatose ...

Hmm...I wonder who it could be?

My money is on the guy in the middle giving the girl next to him "the look".

My Hero Academia was decent again this week, but seriously, we've spent the bulk of the show on how Bakugou shattered Midoriya's confidence, and how Midoriya has started to build it back up. Only we've really focused on it. Like, really really. I'm tempted to call the first eight episodes "A Love Affair: Deku's Growth and Kacchan's Anger".

If the show hasn't been Midoriya whining, it has been Bakugou being angry. I'm glad the show looks like it will finally be moving on, but for what is only a 13 episode run currently, it kind of feels like time was wasted on not making any real plot progression. Our underdog MC still can't control his power more than a hair, and that's directing rather than power percentage, and it's only at the end of this episode that it finally looks like we might have some kind of conflict introduced to bring this season to a head.

I get the impression that the series thinks its going to be long running at this point, but if it isn't, this one is going to be very forgettable in a few years.

Been catching up on yugioh zexal recently. I never did finish it, I'm in episode 54 right now.

It's pretty slow at first, but it's pretty good once it picks up. MC can be a pain and he has the worst hair out of the yugis too, but I do feel like he has had some nice character development, so I'll forgive him :P

That made me laugh out loud.

I'm on the edge of walking away from Kuroko's Basketball. Some of this stuff is too ridiculous. When that one guy made a three pointer--a CONTESTED three pointer--while standing under his own basketball and then said that his range was the entire court at 100%, I just sighed and stopped the video. That's not simply stretching the bounds of reality, it's straight up idiotic. That's like something a 12 year old kid would fantasize about. They might as well go with superpowers.

I'm also losing hope that they'll get better by, like, actually trying to get better. So far, the guy with the red hair seems to improve his game simply by laughing after he gets scored on, which apparently causes him to power up. What I liked about Haikyuu was that they spent do much time in practice trying to better themselves and their game but that's completely absent from Kuroko's Basketball.

I do like the character of Kuroko himself but I wish he'd make some kind of attempt to address his glaring weaknesses. I like the seniors on the team a lot, too.

I'm falling behind on a few shows...I need to step it up!

Also, I finally got myself a Funimation sub. Was on the fence for a while, since I already have Crunchyroll, and have plenty of free ways to keep up on the other shows I want. But at $40/year...I figured why the heck not. I don't have to wait for downloads, or deal with annoying ads when I watch on a console. My top shows this season are Funimation simulcasts anyway, so it works.

Sabaru in Re:zero really gets on my nerves when he nervously rants or jokes. Dude, just calm down and let other speak for a bit. Hopefully, as the characters grows he becomes less annoying or more respectable. I kinda wish the anime would just stick with the more serious tone.

I think you missed the whole point of this ep. Subaru's whole attitude was just a cover to mask how tramutized he is. Its a defense mechanism, and the whole point of this episode was for it to get on your nerves since he was trying really hard to stay positive.

Holy crap, Subaru is getting annoying ...

I think vivster may be on to something where there shouldn't be anymore male MCs in animes. Either that or I'm getting mad in the mind ...
