That's the baseball one right? I've never been a fan of sports anime, I've tried to get into many but... I just can't ;-;

Some people count them and some don't but Chihayafuru and Saki are two of the best.  Most sports anime end up being the same thing, just translated to different sports, but those two bring their own unique attributes to the table.  Chihayafuru has excellent drama and character work, while Saki is fantastic at making you care for all the different characters from other schools.  Saki also has some of the most exciting moments in any sport/game anime I've ever seen.

Rinshan Kaihou!

One that does not get the credit it deserves is Taisho Baseball Girls.  So good in a lot of ways.  Not only are the characters good but the struggle is much more interesting than just some kid who finds his shounen spirit and refuses to give up.  More than a good sports anime, it's a really good anime in general.

A lot of the normal sports anime that have long runs, I end up losing interest.  Eyeshield 21 was a lot of fun but it just seemed to go on forever and I didn't make it to the end.

i'll add those to my queue also. I like that they have long runs. 12 to 24 episodes is just too short in my opinion.

If we're talking about sports anime then there is only one true king and that is Hajime no Ippo. Amazing boxing anime and it's animated by Madhouse.

If you guys like Haikyuu, should definitely try out kuroko no basket since they are very similar other than the fact that they're based on different sports. And Slam Dunk if you're a basketball fan, you'll love it.
Ace of Diamonds and Prince of Tennis are really good too.
Sports anime doesn't get the attention it deserves sadly and that's too bad because there are a lot of great sports anime.

I'll check those out. I'm still kinda new to the genre.

Major was a great sports anime, though repetitive after 100 episodes lol.

I want Haikyuu but with girls and football.

I can agree with this.

Seems strange that there's kind of a dearth of football anime despite other sports having them.

Well, I did forget to mention Eyeshield 21, which is an anime about american football. Honestly don't know how I forgot about it xD

Here's an AMV for it, if you guys want to check it out.

American football? I don't even understand that when things are in English, let alone Japanese

I guess you were talking about normal football huh :P

Well, there is Inazuma Eleven, but I don't much about that one.

With Eyeshield 21, it doesn't matter, since the Japanese don't really understand it, either.  They just take the dramatic bits from football and throw in characters who are overpowered at different positions.  It's not technical or realistic.  Honestly, with most sports anime, the core is usually the same, where each team the protagonist faces has a standout player with new and different skills which the protagonist has to overcome.  That being said, the dynamics of American football are actually ideal for sports anime, as it features two distinct and direct ways for the offense to attack.  That's why I think Eyeshield was popular enough for 150 episodes despite most of the people watching not understanding the rules when the anime started.

And, truthfully, I think having two popular girls that fans would argue over helped a lot, too.

Awesome, I needed this.  Bootleggers have up the early broadcast of D.Gray-man: Hallow episode 1.  Simulcast won't have it until the replay in its normal slot.  So far, it seems to a massive improvement on the previous series, which felt bland for me.
