Grisaia would be much better if they wouldn't do just anything for shock value.

You can have an overachieving sister or
a distant father or
no friends or
a neglected childhood or
an abusive father or
an incest inclined sister or
a dead sister or
a mother in despair or
a raped mother or
a father you killed yourself or
a mother who chopped up your father and then hanged herself or
an abusive uncle who dresses you in girl's clothing and molests you or
killing another guy who tried to rape you or
being sent to a terrorist training camp or
being bullied in that camp or
having to fight your only friend to the death or
having a dead friend.

You just can't have it ALL! Pick one for god's sake.

I hated that series.  Like, inside my core.  It makes KanColle seem realistic and possible in comparison.  I don't know if my 'suspension of disbelief' has ever been so molested before.  I enjoyed dropping it.

You really missed out then. The second last arc was pure anime gold. Took me really by surprise how a mediocre harem fest could be so tragic. As if they suddenly changed directors. It's pure psychological horror. Sure, the end of the arc was over dramatic but the first 2 eps of it were heart wrenchingly great.

FSN2, Shokugeki no Souma, Plastic Memories and Dungeon ni Deai... all had really strong second episodes. The final line in Plastic Memories ep2, Isla only having 2000 hours left, sent a fucking chill down my spine, im glad the feel train is only 10 more stops. Im hoping the serious tone at the end of Dungeon continues into ep3 and Food Wars ep2... well, its was tame compared to ep1 but i geuss more enjoyable like this, i like my ecchi set to about 4-5/10. Hibike! Euphonium ep2 was good but im hoping it starts to pick up now and Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo  ep1 was enjoyable, ive not read the manga but its deffinitly got my interest with what i hope could be a decent plot.

You should read the manga of Yamada alongside the anime, trust me that episode was 6 chapters.... so just imagine how much was skipped (I'm on chapter 5 right now and holy crap did they change a sh*t ton, its basically the same but jesus christ 2-3 episodes got turned into one.

Rewatching Lucky Star, which is still awesome.  I can never get enough of Tsukasa's Deer Experience.

My best 3 animes so far are Kiniro Mosaic, Hibike Euphonium and Mikagura Gakuen. Punch Line, Kekkai Sensen and Show by Rock still have to prove themselves. The rest I'm watching ranges from passable to almost good. Really not the best season. Hope it's over soon so we can get to the good stuff.

I mean look at this pure uncut awesome!

I'm not sure how you can say Mikagura Gakuen is great while  Kekkai Sensen is passable. Kekkai Sensen reminds me a lot of Kyosougiga but better and in New York. Mikagura Gakuen feels like it plays off a whole lot of tropes. Aside from the last sequence (which was pretty rough), the second episode was pretty bland.

So far my rankings of the season are

Plastic Memories might fall a bit if it doesn't live to its potential

Mikagura is bland because the characters feel so flat. I don't dislike that much but, the characters feel like they're from a simplistic shounen anime.  THe main girl has a couple dimensions  but, not enough to get emotion like I get from Plastic Memories

I like Plastic Memories because 1. the animation is much better and 2. the characters actually feel multidimensional. Kazuki isn't a brutal slavedriver, she puts pressure on her staff to keep working and actually cares for her employees. The main guy doesn't feel like the typical weak-willed protagonist

fake edit: I just looked up who is doing the anime and they are both by Dogakobo. The B-team is definitely working on Mikagura. The lack of depth in Migakura is definitely a result of being a light novel adaptation though while original works like Plastic Memories tend to be more well written
