Yeah I dont think PlayStation has any need for EA access PS+ offers enough as it is. I already have a huge backlog on my PS3 because of PS+

you have heard of games for gold right?  where you get free games and keep them forever regardless of subscriptions....

not any more.

point stands.

so does his.

infact the only point that is completely redundant is that bolded one.

The consumers should decide if its a great value. $30 a year for access to games valued over $100 is a bad deal?

It seems to many Sony just doesn't like competition.

No company likes competition, of course. Consumers are the ones who should enforce competition.

My point is Sony is trying to lead people to believe this isn't a good deal. But it certainly seems like a good deal compared to buying those same games on the PS Store right now.

I'd respect Sony more if they just said, "We want EA to put games on PS+."

Uhhh....PS+ already gives discounts on games and DLC, full game trials, and free games per month. And it's pretty across the board (meaning, EA games included). Why would you want a publisher specific subscription? What if it blows up? Then there's gonna be an "Activision Access" and "Ubisoft Access" and "Capcom Access". Then there won't be a "point" to PS+...which already does the things that EA Access is going to do.

Yea, it's just PR spin here. No way is the option to have it "not representing a good value", but from a business standpoint, it makes no sense to have a subscription model compete with their own...on their own platform. And it would really undermine all the strides they have made to make PS+ what it is today, because if people start saying EA Access > PS+ (and other publishers follow suit), then PS+ will just revert to "paying to play online" which is something that, in other words, "doesn't represent a good value to the Playstation gamer" because for years, free online is something we've liked and with the PS4, if we have to pay for online, at least we get something in return.

If the only value in PS+ is only to play online, and not the free games, discounts, betas, trials, etc. it'll be just as bad as XBL was before Sony made MS change their tune. That's not good for the Playstation gamer.

I'd rather pay $50 and get free games, discounts, trials, etc. from several publishers, and still get my online....than have to choose between either embracing the "value" of EA Access, and forgoing online.....or spending $60 on XBL and forgoing the discounts, game trials, etc. You need to spend $90 to get both. $50 vs. $90. Which amount sounds better in terms of what you're getting? $50 for online, free games (from several companies), discounts (on games from several companies), full game trials (on games from several company), etc. vs. $90 for online, free games (from several companies), discounts (on EA games), early access (on EA games), etc.

I'll take $50 for everybody over $90 for EA only, every day of the week.

THis!  EA Access success can potentially set off an unprecedented chain of events that could ultimately backfire on the consumers should any other pub/dev decide to follow suit.   Once used game stores like gamestop, EBgames, etc. no longer are a viable option for 2nd hand purchases and close shop.. EA and anyone else can jack up their sub prices to whatever they want and people wouldnt be able to do a damn thing about it because EA and the likes will set their own pricing standards..

Man.. I hate it when your girl has to leave my place to come back to you..

No, there will still be a purpose for PS+. They can still charge people for online play.

God forbid other publishers make subscription services like EA Access. That might lead to people getting games they actually want to play.

Xbox gamers can have a backlog that will be huge soon too.

There is no difference.  usi g it as a defemce (thats what it is) against not having this  new EA choice is pointless.

This is about choice and Sony denying it because it messes with their financial plans.

It isnt about value for gamers, its about profits for Sony.

If its about value why hasnt PSNow been strangled at birth for the absolutely outrageous rip off that it is.

i guess choices now are a good thing eh? didnt see you fighting the good fight back in the day when Kinect was mandetory. in fact, you were all in for it. wonder why.

We were all in for Kinect being mandatory like all Sony fans were in for a $599 PS3.

Over time, that problem got fixed.

dude.. PSNow pricing isn't even set in stone yet.  you're arguing screen captures of what could be nothing more than placeholders.  Nobody's had anything to say on it yet because that service isn't available.  but rest assure, if the pricing model doesn't suit well with consumers, there will be uproars about it.. let's see what happens first before casting stones, yea?

Man.. I hate it when your girl has to leave my place to come back to you..

And now I'd like to know the actual reason why Sony shot it down.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

i actually hope its a first step for  publishers to create their own store on XBL, PSN etc.. being forced to only use 1 store isn't good.. choice is good.. if I don't like netflix i can go to amazon prime or itunes...

i really wished Amazon would offer directly digital games to our consoles.. So that when Sony's price is too high for a game you could buy it cheaper at Amazon.

EA probably cut a good deal with MS which Sony wouldn't/couldn't/ didn't want to..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

it wasnt a problem as it was more of blind and ignorant allegiance. well, i guess you can characterize  as a problem too.

sure, having the choice of this sub is better than not having it. but when it really comes down to it. its not a big deal at all, and its not a good deal really.
