Yeah I dont think PlayStation has any need for EA access PS+ offers enough as it is. I already have a huge backlog on my PS3 because of PS+

I see the real reason is Sony doesn't want this service to conflict with their two other subscription based programs: PS+ and PS Now.
Cant say I blame them but sucks for PS Users who mightve been interested in this offering by EA

I agree with you. I would have appreciated the option.
This EA service is really good but I guess playstation already has PS+ so they don't really need it. Still, I'm sure there are many PS4 owners that would want EA access.

Maybe MS is paying EA for this service and Sony wasn't willing to pay for it.

Possibly. Maybe Sony wanted EA to pay them...

They aren't the same though. PS+ is a rental service while XBL Gold gives them away. And although the PS4 isn't getting great games right now, PS3 still gets some quite recent games that are still kinda expensive. I expect PS4 to start getting some big recent games with PS+ soon. On the other hand, Games with Gold gives away games that are more than 2 years old, and many of the games are worth less than $10.
