The WiiU will easily win because it has Smash.. What big games does the Vita actually have?

Obvius.

Global:

3DS>PS4>WiiU>XOne>Vita

has to be wii u.

the odds are in favour of the u.

Vita doesn't have a bomb like Smash and Hyrule Warriors (it will move consoles in Japan). WiiU has the advantage.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

But Wii U will most likely win globally.

How come you think Vita will win? I mean it sells better on a daily basis in JP but Wii U has Hyrule Warriors and Smash

I really don't know about the Vita that much, does it have any big games that will sell in Japan this holiday?

OP is talking about one specific week (not "holidays" like his title says) - namely the week before Christmas.

Why are people saying "WiiU has Hyrule Warriors"?

The game's releasing in August for WiiU. It's looking like it's barely going to boost hardware for that month. And yet we're thinking it's going to be a major player 4 months later?

Somehow, I think it'll be long gone from any kind of relevance by December.

And similarly, Bayonetta 2 will not have any long-term effects on hardware.  Nor Fatal Frame 4

OT: WiiU will win because Nintendo consoles sell a larger proportion of their sales to kids and kids get presents during holiday periods.

Vita will, however, quite handily win the full year again. I'm hopeful that it'll be up YoY (again), whereas I'm not sure WiiU will be. Possibly.

hmm, that's a tough one. I'm gonna say the Vita.

That's a given.

For that one week it's a tough call. It all comes down to whether Wii U will be flat or up yoy for that week I guess. If it's flat I can see Vita possibly just pipping it.

However given Mario Kart hasn't boosted hardware too much there and Smash will be out. Wii U could be on a lot more kids Xmas wish lists this year when they couldn't have it in May.

I'm gonna go with Vita though as if marketed right they've had a very strong year of releases and Digimon etc in early 2015 could just put it on a lot of Xmas wish lists too. Phantasy Star Nova also has a lot of hardware shifting potential. It certainly compares to God Eater 2.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.
