Mostly I think EA is just scared. The whole Activision-Blizzard thing really came out of nowhere and now they realize they aren't the biggest kid on the block anymore.

EA will be the next Atari. They get cocky on all the games they release, thinking people will buy them no matter what. They think that quantity is better than quality. Then they'll release a game like ET that Atari released. They'll mess everything up that they've got. The only difference between EA and Atari, is that EA never did have a console and most likely never will.

Hehe, I do believe they can release a console(though I also believe its unlikely) and still release Madden for other consoles (as strange as it sounds, why not?).

The more I think about it, the more I think EA WILL make a console. It's just like Star Wars: Episode 1 -EA is building it's forces up for an invasion. It's going to be a monopoly by 2011. Then, it will invade the innocent console world. They've gotten the guy from Sega's Dreamcast and Microsoft's XBOX, for crying out loud.

EA is buying up everything because their games don't sell anymore. EA which was built on their sports franchises (NBA Live, Madden, etc.) which are not selling well by the way. So they figure that if they buy up other gaming companies and add their franchises they will gain profit quickly.
