Forums - Gaming - I've come to the realization that most first party Nintendo games suck.

Nintendo has lost lots of money and credibility with the end period of the Wii, the mitigate 3DS and the Wii U.

And because as a consequence third-party developers are not interested, and Nintendo has less budget, it shows in the few studios and games Nintendo is able to produce, the declining quality and the worst thing (in my opinion) is the milking.

There are 3X3 periods of generations in video game, and the second period (gen 4/5/6, the golden age of video game for me) was the best: Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64 and Gamecube. After that, it's been a big decline in quality, IP management and image.

The amount of "opinion=fact" crap going on in this thread is appalling, stupid, hilarious.

Indeed.  The nonsense about reviewers giving Nintendo games high scores simply because they don't judge them fairly gave me a chuckle too.

Reviewer gives other game high score = awesome!

THE SAME reviewer giving Nintendo game high score = "bias nostalgia paid off(?!) yadda yadda. Life, I tells ya.

That´s fine. I think the same about Sony´s first party games.

But in your case, people will label you as close-minded and disrespectful.

:(  That´s the cruel reality.

This has been my experience with this site, honestly.

I think the quality really went downhill after 2008. Nintendo games nowadays just don't interest me that long. There is definitely an issue with being too accessible.

I think some people aren't reading the OP and missing the point, posting, you shouldn't have chose those games, you must not like the genre, or etc.  Not all Nintendo games suck, exactly as the thread title states.  "Most" first party Nintendo games suck.  Most =/= all.

I also happen to like a wide variety of games, and as I've stated, the games were on a sale, otherwise I would have never purchased them.  $40 MSRP for Zelda and Yoshi, $35 for Tomodachi and Kirby.  That makes each game cost $20 or $17.50, worth purchasing because as Nintendo titles, I can sell the ones I don't like and make more than what I've paid for them back.  So by purchasing the games and trying them out for myself, I really have nothing to lose.

I said Kirby was easy but I liked it.  A lot of people seem to be missing that.  The only ones I said I didn't like were Yoshi's New Island and Tomodachi, but if you read further it's not just those games.  I also mentioned how I've played many other Nintendo titles and failed to enjoy them, pointing out that the really big titles are usually good, but a lot of other titles I've purchased haven't been.

Super Princess Peach, Metroid Prime Hunters, Nintendogs, Animal Crossing, Pokemon Diamond, Pokemon X, and Glory of Heracles are crap.  New Super Mario Bros and New Super Mario Bros Wii are sub par, being much worse than many platformers released last gen.  A long fall from the series that has some of the best 2D platformers.  Wii Sports isn't terrible, but when comparing it to the only other game that's similar that I've played, Sports Champion, the difference in the quality of gameplay and motion detection is like night and day.

Pokemon is a great game for pvp, but you can't deny how stupidly easy and pathetic the single player experience is.  That's part of the game too.  You've got to take the good with the bad and the bad stands out much more than the good.

I dislike the Mario Kart series, but it's got great track design and the controls feel great.  The only problem it has is penalizing those in first place in order to give other players that aren't that good a chance to win once in awhile.  It's not a bad game, it's actually a really good game, but it's not for me.

Smash Bros, Clubhouse Games, Super Mario 3D Land, Advance Wars, and Advance Wars Days of Ruin are all good games that I also like.  I'd assume the Fire Emblem games I own on the DS/3DS, and GC are as well since I liked a past games in the series, just havnen't opened them.  Games like Kirby Super Star are good, but that doesn't count.  It's a port.  Jump Ultimate Stars is good as well, but it was only published by Nintendo, not developed.

You just had to name the worst metroid game. I didn't even know Super Princess Peach existed, Nintendogs is for kids, animal crossing(as we've seen) isn't your cup of tea. And Pokemon isn't for everyone. Have you honestly never owned a single home console by nintendo?

EDIT: Also, you realize that over half of those games bolded are second and third party studios right?
