well at least there will be games like uncharted 4 to actually take advantage of that massive hardware gap.

Look up graphical diminishing returns.

"Massive" is not reality.

Maybe not to you, but many of us think the jump has been pretty massive, especially considering how cheap the PS4/X1 are to manufacture compared to their predecessors.

The jump from Killzone 3 (4.5 years after launch) to Killzone:SF (launch title) impressed me a lot, even as a PC gamer. It will be interesting to see what ND can pull off.

We will certainly see less in-gen graphical improvements (though more tech advancements like soft body physics and mass NPC simulation), but it will also be a shorter gen too. I can live with that.

That's far too many factors to actually properly gauge for reasons. What I am referring to is the reality of diminishing returns on graphical capabilities. PS4 IS more capable, but reality does not like words like "massive" because they show blissful ignorance to the reality. There will be marked differences between the two systems, they just won't be "massive".

PS4 got the superior version again but that's common sense.

Maybe in practice that gap ain't so massive?

A gap seems to exist, its just not massive.

A visible gap surely is there though. And if some third party, to keep the peace with Microsoft won't take advantage of it, Sony's first certainly will.

A visible gap is there???  That's the opposite of the point of the OP.

We will get a better idea when the game really erleases and we aren't comparing betas or leaked videos.  If they both end up at 1080p/30, there will probably be very minor differences.  Like what was posted earlier in the thread, that won't be discernible in game play.  The reality is, that is the case with most of these XB1vsPS4 threads.

It is near the end of the end....

Yeah, Bungie is very concerned with staying in MS's good graces. That's why Bungie is taking Sony's money for exclusive content and promoting it exclusively for Sony.

MS is fine with the exclusives Sony bought, but no visual parity would be going to far? Yeah, great logic.

LOL and people wonder why the power discussion wont go away..not every game will stress the systems as much as some others. Whats your point? Destiny is an Ok not great looking cross gen title. What will you say when witcher 3, or others come out looking worse on x1?? Unless destiny ships with a better GOU and faster ram the x1 is weaker..period.

Bungie went for parity on a cross gen game..who cares.

The game looks nearly the same on ps3 for gods sakes. It's not a pretty game.

Exactly. I'm having a lot of fun with the beta on Ps4, but the graphics are nothing special. I'm honestly surprised they didn't do a push for 60fps. I'm betting it would have worked.

Yep. Lock it at 30 fps and parity is achievable.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Destiny could have/should have been 1080p/60fps on PS4. Bungie went for parity, 'nuff said.

What makes you think they could have acheived that? Even Infamous couldn't acheive that. I think some people overestimate the PS4, it's nowhere near as powerful as people seem to think.

The hype gets kind of annoying at times. I dont even know why people clamor for 60 fps so much in the first place.

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

they are expecting this to be huge, hence it's 100% obvious they have gone for parity. I disagree with parity between ps4 and xbox1
