I see WiiU was adjusted down for week of 12 July. Only 1k ahead of xb one, which means outside of Japan xb one is leading. Was the case before adjustment, but at such a small difference the tier 3 counties for Xb one in September can routinely put xb one marginally ahead. Will still take ages to overcome that 2 million gap.

Poor use of language. That thread was supposed to be claiming that market share was shrinking, which can happen even when the absolute gap is growing on a head to head comparison.

I am a bit surprised that PS4 > xb one +WiiU so soon after the price drop and MK8 with no particularly significant thing to help drive PS4 sales, other than its awesomeness of course.

Wii U hanging pretty good. The interesting thing to me will be how big of a bump will Smash Bros give the console. A 60k or so baseline is about N64 numbers, so I don't think it's a stretch to say that the Wii U could end up with around 40 million in its lifetime just with the games that are already announced. If they drop some more great games in the coming years I wouldn't be shocked if in the end it ends up with NES / SNES type numbers, which IMO would make the Wii U a pretty solid success, especially after the rough start.

Those PS4 numbers are amazing too because they are bucking the trend of video game history. Sony sold 48k consoles in the U.S., yet only had 100k in software sales, and only had 3 games sell atleast 10k copies. They are selling a whole ton of consoles with pretty much no software, pretty much exactly how the N64 was back in the day. It will be interesting to see though if it follows the N64 trend of huge 1st year sales and then a big dropoff or it keeps up the momentum. Hard to tell right now.

Nice PS4 numbers. A week over week increase in the summer is good to see.

It would be more accurate for him to say the PS4 has never fallen below 100k because of a lack of demand :p The only week it has ever happened was the result of hardcore supply shortages (and the region specific launch of course).
