Not one.  Not a Wii U, a PS4 or an XBOne.  Not a single friend has one of these.  Many of my friends are gamers.  Most would fall into the Dude-Bro category, guys I play hockey with who play COD, GTA and NHL 20XX.  A few are more serious gamers like me.  Some have kids who are also into gaming.  But all are playing on a PS360 and I haven't heard one mention they want to get a U,4 or One.  They know about them, but don't care.  Yet, at least.

I thought of this because last gen friends were split between PS3 and XB360, and I was thinking it would be good to have everyone on the same system to play together.  I have a U, but I doubt many will pick one up - though interest has really spiked with MK8.

I think this really says a lot about where we stand with this gen.  The mass market hasn't jumped on board yet, at all.  Talk of PS4 dominating is silly.  Talk of Wii U's dreadful sales in 2013 is irrelevant.  Even talk of a doomed XBOne premature.  That's not to say that the early PS4 momentum isn't important - getting back to my friends, if the early adopters are picking up PS4's that could swing the whole group.  But we don't know what's ahead.  COD's pre-orders are down.  AC's pre-orders are down.  We don't know what titles and system will capture the imagination of the mass market, and none of either have done that yet.
