Nothing too much, it's just timed exclusives and early acces. And Destiny is still just one game. I say it's just as important as the Skyrim timed DLC deal microsoft had with Bethesda. Important, but in no way a game changer.

There is no hype for Halo until the Mountain Dew / Doritos commercials start up.

If Watch_Dogs was a big win to PS4, Destiny will be an even bigger without a doubt.


This, WatchDogs was pretty much just featured on the PS4 without too many perks and it made a huge difference. Destiny has more hype, and honeslty I think it has a chance to define the early part of this gen, obviously in a few years other games will pass it, but I think it will be like CoD4 was last gen, the game that force people on the fence to jump to next gen.



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

How do you know that?

And does destiny need Doritos too, or is that one able to garner hype without that?


Its a joke based on an inconvenient truth. Obviously Halo can gain hype on its own but Halo 5 will. This is when Mountain Dew and Doritos are free to spread their wings.

It's a difficult one to call. Ubisoft games have always been associated with the PS more than the Xbox, and Watchdogs was noticeably better on the PS4. On the other hand, Bungie has always been associated with the Xbox (more so because of Halo of course). The main factor for the PS4 version doing better isn't loyalty, it's the bundle, exclusive content, recent association and other smaller details. Brand loyalty COULD cut into the PS44 sales, but it could also work against the brand because of Xbox fans not liking their beloved Bungie being in bed with Sony. I'm going to say there will be a big difference in favour of the PS4 but not on the scale of 2:1 as it was with Watchdogs. The white PS4 bundle could prove me wrong though ... (see the problem?)

It's all over t' shop.

I have no problem predicting a big win in Europe, that's a given, but It's going to be interesting to see the ratios in the US.

edit: To hell with it ... it's going to be an astronomical win for Sony.

I know the joke, but I think the X1 gets enough flack that it doesn't need more trolling like "it will only do well when it gets doritos".

It'll be massive, the biggest new IP of the year is associated solely with the PS4? That can only end well for Sony. Is there a prediction thread for how many PS4s will be sold during Destiny week?

That's got to be high for certain. There will be people who  buy their first PS4 based in the fact it's white regardless of what game it comes with. There are hundreds of Gaffers (spits) who are planning on buying ANOTHER PS4 just to get their hands on the white version.
