So after around 10 months of play, what are you favourite mega evolution in the game? Mine
1) Mega Gyarados: Not only I always liked Gyarados a lot, but this mega evolution is ont of the most strategic one. Gyarados can be a defensive or offensive pokemon, while the Mega is purely offensive. Your opponent has no way to know if you will turn mega Gyarados or not, and the weakness are totally different for the mega evolution. Often opponent will try to stone edge Gyarados to only find Mega Gyarados laughing at their attempt while starting to draco danse. Mega Gyarados has in addition of an improved attack, a great special defense and a reduced vulnerability to electric. There is no OHKO by electric move with that spec defense now.
2) Mega Charizard Y: While Charizard became totally irrelevant, this mega evolution bring him back to life. Basically, with drought, solarbeam and his stellar special attack, he is the fire pokemon that says FU to all the water pokemon. The first thing you know in pokemon is that Water beat Fire pokemon. But Chrizard Y beats 99% of Water Pokemon with solarbeam. Drought also make fire move much stronger. Charozard Y become one of the best special sweeper and deal with annoying threats such as water motisma and Azumarill with ease.
3) Mega Heracross: The third one was tougher to pick, but I like Mega Heracross for its design, it truely looks like a beast with herculean force, and indeed he has it. Skill link is a great ability for him as he can have now a 125 STA physical insect move, as well a strong rock and grass move with always 5 hits. Not to mention that close combat annilhate almost everything that don't resist fighting and that megahorn still exist for standard Heracross. Witht he right set up, it's a great pokemon.
