Forums - Gaming - Square Enix sends cease and desist letter to FF Type 0 PSP translation group

They should just release a translation patch, not a file with original data and lots of copyright infringement. It is not illegal to release a bare fan translation patch but the way they did it contains tons of illegal copyrighted material, especially the 1-file conversion.

A small and simple diff patch which requires an original copy of the game would be perfectly in line with the law.

The patch has already been released so it's too late for the cease and desist letter. All Square Enix can do is get them to remove it from their website.

I don't have a problem with this.

I'm not even interested in this game and I find this a little upsetting. People have been asking for Type-0 in other languages on a handheld for 3 years now...

4 ≈ One

If Type-0 was coming to the West on Vita, I wouldnt have a problem with this.

Though my problem with this is how Square Enix went about it, not the actual S&D order.

@ mods & OP.

Nowhere in the link does Sky mention a C & D letter. Don't blindly copy stuff from other sites.

A little late, considering the patch is already live...

... and as such is available through many means now.

This game is coming to consoles, as it was reported a while ago.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

This fucking company. If they ever go down I won´t be sheding any tears.

Just like they were too late releasing this game, they're always far too late with a C&D.
