Was the Xbox 360. 
I realized tonight that the Xbox 360 was the console that got me into playing JRPGs. Sure I played Pokemon and am a huge fan of the series, but I wouldn't consider it a hardcore JRPG (if you do, please don't kill me). 

I can admit.. I was/kinda still am a massive casual. I'm 21 and started playing JRPGs on the 360. Games like Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey (my favorite), Magna Carta 2, Eternal Sonata, and a few others really had a huge impact on my gaming tastes today. I've missed soooo many great JRPGs. Also have only played the FF 13 series out of the whole FF series, haven't played the Wii's JRPGs, bought them though (Xenoblade and The Last Story).

It wasn't a Final Fantasy on the PS2, or other PS2 JRPGs that got me into this genre, but way later into the 7th gen on the most unlikely console. I still have tons of JRPGs to play such as the aforementioned Wii games, and a lot of FF games, KH, as well as the FF X, Persona, Symphonia, etc.

Anyone else have any familiar story? What console got you into JRPGS? Just wanted to share :)

I cannot get into FE at all. ive tried many times to appretiate the genre but i cannot get into them.

im not an anime fan at all so thats probably why.

I never really liked RPGs until I played Xenoblade.

Wow, lolll, I have never heard that phrase before. Xbox 360 getting people in jrpgs? Thats a first! Interesting! I think mine was the snes with games like FF and Earthbound and etc. I must say though, tales of vesperia being xbox 360 exclusive is like just zomg for tales fans like me. Like, when my friend got tales of vesperia, I was like, dw dude, it will come to the ps3 eventually but it never came T_T (to the west that is)

Interesting that the 360 got you into JRPGs. I got into them on the PS1 with Legend of Dragoon. Haven't looked back since!

The NES got me into JRPG's with the first Dragon Warrior/Quest game I played it all the way through and beat it at least four times.

The console that got me into JRPGs was the PS1, the console that got me out of them was the PS2 lol

The console that got me into jrpgs was the snes, games like Earthbound (my fav game of all time), FF6, and Super Mario RPG got me into the genre. I was playing jrpgs since I was 5, kind of strange compared to the children of today.
