Right now on PS4 there are only 4 games you can't get on last gen. Killzone, Infamous, Knack, and UFC. That lineup isn't moving many consoles.

Xbox One games not on last gen. Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, Ryse, and Kinect Sports. That lineup is also not moving hardly any consoles.

Many many people aren't upgrading yet, as there's little point other than better version of 3rd party games. We aren't going to see the sales potential of either system until they actually get games, people want, that they can't get on PS360. Once Assassins Creed Unity, Batman Arkham Knight, Uncharted, Bloodborne, Halo, etc. actually release then these systems will start really selling.

The amount of last gen / current gen ports is higher than the transition period of any console cycle ever.

yeah so far wii u(in same time frame as other consoles so starting with november 2013)

has super mario 3d world,  doney kong, mario kart 8 thats it rather depressing since thats 9 months and only 3 games are out :(

I think people are missing the point of my post, I'm not talking about exclusives at all. I'm talking about games people can't get on PS360. There were at this point already many games that were 3rd party multi plat people couldn't get on the OG Xbox and PS2.

My post is regarding games people HAVE to go out and buy a new console to play, not exclusive titles. 

Ahh ok, my apologies.  I think that's a different issue though, because these 3rd party titles are being pushed to all platforms to maximize revenue, correct?  And that's nothing Sony (Or Microsoft or Nintendo) can control, correct?  Even Destiny is cross-gen, hell, even Titanfall is cross-gen.  So, in that sense, I think this will be a general complaint moving forward, for all gens to come.  3rd parties are going to try to maximize profit whenever possible.  And unless people make a concerted effort to only purchase on newer gen, it won't go away anytime soon (if ever).

Oh for sure and I agree with you. My post was in response to The Source saying these consoles aren't selling huge amounts, and my post was simply stating we won't see their sales potential until development really kicks in for next gen only titles.

2015 console sales will destroy this years.

I gotcha, we're on the same page now :)

Agree strongly, the current weekly sales are a result of a dry month, coupled with first year dolldrums for new hardware.  Year 2+ will see much healthier weekly/monthly numbers as the heavy hitters start releasing.

Yep all the big hitters are still on last gen as well I mean if you have a PS360 you can still play

Watch Dogs

Destiny

Titanfall

Call of Duty

Sports titles

and a bunch of others

Granted they are worse versions but the gameplay is still fundamentally the same. Once stuff like Witcher 3, Batman, Asasssins Creed, COD (next year is Black Ops 3 and there will be no last gen version I've been told) people will start to really flock to the new consoles.

I think next generations should be longer then actual generations so developement cost increase slow down,ps3 and xbox360 sold sale wasn't that bad before X1 and Ps4 announce



PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I really don't want to dig through the last 100 pages to find an answer to this question - But are people using Wedbush as a trusted resource for sales this month? I saw this thread when it was JUST NPD and the PS4 had sold ~190K but now it seems like we're cherry picking the best numbers across all platforms.
