...and we are lining up incredible deals and special promotions to celebrate.

Does this mean we could get a Xbox One for 350$ ? Heck, with bundles and discounts, hopefully it can go as low as 300$.

Previously I held to a prediction of common $349 deals by November.

Now, I'm thinking that $299 might be in the cards in limited deals.

~32,000/week (if ~160k for June is true) is just going to have them spiraling ever further behind in PS4's rear view mirror.

And ~32,000/week is REALLY optimistic considering the sales bubble of people that had waited through May to buy the new SKU on those first few days.

If it's not the price that's holding the system back now and if it arguably has the best games lineup. Why is it still selling worse than the no-game-better graphics-are-irrelevant-PS4?

Didnt xbox one sales reduce by alot in may because of the early price cut announcement. So 100% more isn't that too impressive of a jump

Yup. As soon as Microsoft announced the Kinectless Xbox One, sales took a hit. 100% in comparison to May wouldn't even be that much.

I also wonder why they announced this now. NPD is tomorrow right? Damage control?

Damage control, useless stats, asterisks and bending information (ala 5 million sold through retailers) is all they seem to be doing this gen. A huge shift from their confidence last gen.

115,000 for XB1 in April = 28,750/week
~160,000 for XB1 in June = 32,000/week

Big boost of 3,250/week? Woohooo!

I dont think such thing CAN be called a boost...

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Quite bad, but it's like i said earlier, price parity won't make the X1 sell better than the PS4 not even if we're talking US only.

The main console for this generation was chosen on release day already for most people.

If the truth is that there was a group of buyers that waited from May to buy their XB1s on the first days of availability (a bubble if you will), then the real fact of the matter is that the baseline DID NOT increase from pre-price-drop/$399 SKU announcement.

So I guess Sony fans should already stock up on lotion and tissues for tomorrow's NPD?

That's one way to put it, LOL.

I just hope Nintendo is doing decently. As much as I like to argue against people who claim the XB1 is doing better than it actually is, I don't really care about Sony per se. Nintendo is much more nostalgic for me, and I have hated seeing the U do so badly for so long.

So, VGC again overtracked XOne. But this time by some 20K, so only about 12% error. It certainly seems ioi tweaked the algorhythm, and it's working.

And this most certainly is damage control, get NPD out of the way a day early, and start working on the next month's statement (4 weeks of summer doldrums). They'll return to 77K again...

Pshaw, Sony's fans already own stock in lotion and tissues after the launch. ;)
