And I explained. Not giving ppl who bought a title any advantage isn't "taking advantage" of anyone. Like buying a blu ray and then getting the collector's edition doesn't entitle you to a discount.

Thats not the same. The same would be the people who bought the DVD of the movie. They can still watch the movie on their BR player.

Why isn't it the same? You can watch/play both titles on the machine you currently own (assuming you were one of those who once bought it). At what point in the transactional process (in this specific case you are stating) is Sony "taking advantage" of said customer?

You can play your DVDs on the BR player. You cant play your PS3 games on the PS4.

You can't play your Gamecube games on the Wii U either. Heck, depending when you bought a Wii, you can't even play those games on a Wii either.

Soooooooo are you saying that remastering is a way for Sony to "take advantage" of the "customers who already bought the game" by forcing them to use the system they already own to play the PS3 games they already have? I really don't get the connection...

Your logic is a little wonky here.....

No, the preorders and purchases of said title would be the "demand".

Yeah, Sony created the demand. You couldnt pre-order it before it was announced.

Demand is defined as "An economic principle that describes a consumer's desire and willingness to pay a price for a specific good or service."

Are you saying Sony created from thin air the customer's desire and willingness to pay the price for their remasters?

Sony must be awesome as hell in their job...

Yes, they take away the advantage to play the game you bought on their previous system and gives you no benefits for owning it.

A Wii U that can play Gamecube games?

It's not like Nintendo couldn't do it, right? After all, the original Wii could run those games just fine. And the Wii U can handle the Wii just fine.

Nah... It's an occasion for them to do Remasters like Wind Waker. Just like they did with the Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii.  Which included games that were from the gen that came just before. Prime 2 wasn't yet 5 years old when they did that remaster. What kind of devils are they.

Why should there be an advantage to the game you bought on their previous system? Isn't being able to play the game you bought in the system you bought it for the primary advantage in buying it in the first place?

There is demand for pretty much anything in this world. Its in the way you handle the demand that shows your intentions.

So it would be better if they just removed the BC on the WiiU and remastered the games instead?
