Famitsu seem to be giving out much less inflated review scores lately.

And then they go and give Yoshi what would be the equivalent of 82.5/100, which would be the 4th highest review of all if included with western reviews. Just goes to show!

So, I guess Sony's check didn't clear in time this week. Nintendo has enough cash to pay a year in advance.

Seems to me that they always roll over and beg for games from bigger publishers, or that have more hype. More niche stuff and anime tie-ins I find they're much more discerning and prepared to criticise, but even a less significant title like Yoshi will get big marks if it's a high profile franchise. That and the compressed scale they used (a mark under say 28 is quite unusual in my experience) and it's not that surprising. TBH, 33/40 isn't actually all that glowing a review by their standards IMO

EDIT: Huge range on that Vita game I've never heard of as well - a 4, two 6s and an 8? Usually all the reviewers are within 2 points of each other at the very most, often only one

That Yoshi's New Island score sticks out like a sore thumb...

30/40 for an otome game with Re: Vice[d]? Not bad at all.

Nothing else is surprising.

Lol that Yoshi score is so high, also sad that I will never get to play Corpse Party 😔
