This is actually really cool. I think voice command is put to much better use as a tool toward gameplay as opposed to navigating a system menu.
Day one buy. I love voice commands, hope this is well supported, and shows there is demand if user properly.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

i tried the voice commands on ps4's menus via the ps4 camera. worked almost always for me even if the navigation via voice control was slower than navigation via the gamepad. to be fair,. i sport a pretty clear spoken midwestern accent.
to me it just hammers down one point,.. if ms wanted voice control on xbox than kinect was a far too technical and expensive solution for a simple problem. they could have bundled a $5-10 peripheral instead of a $150 peripheral as voice commands aren't some elusive and difficult task only ms can pull off. just about every device has some sort of voice control these days. their decision to bundle kinect should have meant they had some miraculous use for the depth sensing camera,.. but they didn't.
but cool beans for ps4 i guess although that game looks boring.

Shopto's news outlet tested kinect and the ps cam when it launced. Because the guy is scottish, he spoke naturally, and kinect didnt recognise most of what he was saying.
The ps camera pretty much got him 90% of the time. Kinect feels more advanced, but ps camera's (and other mics on ps4) just seem to take a less is more approach where it's looking for sounds rather than speech.
Which is prob why kinect has its own processor in it, whereas clearly ps mics dont.
I didn't even know that PS4 could use voice commands like this, I thought everything was pre-set 0.o

yeah well, 98% of voice commands is software. the microphone is obviously required but that is such old technology now. i remember when my mother purchased dragon dictate for me back in high school (90's),. things have come a long way since then but even then it worked okay.
