Yeah I mean the bad signs are already there, last month Sony's console increased the gap to more than 2:1

PS4 ~ 197k
XB1 ~ 77k

It's just going to get worse from here... I suspect within maybe 1 month that 3 million gap is just going to disappear as gamers realise they could have purchased Watch_dogs on XBO or Wii-u.

?? Look at the sales bro...PS2 and 3 only sold on a gimmick? The ps2 had the best library and massive third party support...PS3 also had tonnes of great games, features, and third party support... DVD players were 20 bucks a mfew years into ps2's life , same with bluray, and bluray never nreally tookk off, your argument is not basd in reality. People are so off base in this thread. Wii sales fell off a cliff once the motion fad died, PPS4 sales won't.. The ps4 is also going to be much cheaper this gen, like ps2 was, ps3 is still 250.... PS4 won't outsell wii first 2-3 years when the motion craze made it a craze, but it will outsell it in the long run.. Doesn;t matter if then gen is only 5 years, the PS4 is made and easily to bring the cost down and was made with quick price reductions in mind, it will sell well past 5 years like ps2 did due to it being much cheaper.

Wii sales disappeared after awhile, ps4 won;t and will sell much longer. It is also going to be much cheaper then ps3 and will hit below 200 bucks eventually, it will outsell the wii, it doesn;t need to outsell it weekly first 2-3 years. Also, ps4 will pick up a tonne come fall.

XBox and WiiU will sell less than 100 million.

The PS4 won´t even come close to 140 million.

Edit: And lol at "catching up" . The XBone would catch up if it would outsell the PS4...which it doesn´t. It sells roughly 50% more than the X1 .

Infact Wii U and XBOX ONE will sell LESS of 100 million.

Historically, the typical release between hardware iterations is 5-6 years. If the Xbox One continues it's trend of subpar sales and the PS4 pulls ahead even further, then yes, while continuing to support Xbone they will release a successor before Sony can. You also have to factor in that both companies have launched hardware that is at best mid tier in terms of today's standards. In 5 years both consoles will really begin to show their age.
