Remasters?

They are cool! 86 54.78%

They suck! 30 19.11%

If they come from Nintend... 26 16.56%

If they come from Sony, I... 12 7.64%

If they come from MS, I l... 3 1.91%

Total:157

I find it funny how the poll is biased towards Nintendo and Playstation remakes. I think it really shows how badly we want remakes from the N64/PS1 era; however there is a reason that Microsoft actually should be considered more strongly - some of Rare's IPs could be great remakes.

Yeah, we get to buy the game again because the developers didnt get it right the first time. Yay for us!

You expected them to get 1080p/60 the first time?

A game doesnt have to be 1080p/60fps to be good. God, people are so hung up on the technical stuff...

This!!!

The only good thing i find about hd versions is the fact that if the game is rare, you can have it cheaper and the new version will not be rare..
But the fact that it has better visual or whatever, i frankly don't fucking care.. ( and they should make retrocompatibility.. it always was this way and is simple to make ).

There aren't many consoles that are actually backwards compatible.  And there are reasons for that.

I don't know, but most of my consoles are backward compatible ( ps1, ps2, ps3, wii, wii u, ds, etc.. )

The best joke would be a remake of call of duty ghosts.

PS3 had its backwards compatible removed to cut costs as they had literal PS2 components in the launch PS3s. Wii U isn't perfect compatibility and DS dropped it with newer models. There are costs associated with it and it's not feasible in all situations.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with them and it's a win-win all around. Everyone who complains does obviously not have enough other first world problems to care about.

Could not agree more.

If I had purchased already the PS3 version and then I would hear that there will be a PS4 version just one year after the PS3 release which is far better than I would be really mad, becouse if I had known this before I had waited for the PS4 version, and they defenetly knowing that while they released the PS3 version that there will be a PS4 version too!!! Those Games will always developed at the same time and such an remake will take more than 1 year to develop ;)

I guess this is off-topic of me but thread is already there. Can you explain the bolded, please.

Nothing wrong with remasters and remakes. But people who have spent $500 or so on a new console certainly didnt buy them for games that theyve already played, which is where the issue is arising.

+1

Sums up my thoughts on the matter perfectly.

Not every game runs as well as it did on Wii, so it isn't perfect compatibility. For example, Xenoblade experiences frame rate drops on Wii U that do not exist when playing on a Wii.

Remasters are fine (for the most part). The more games, better it is for the install base. Its great for people who missed the game on previous console/s and want to play an improved upon version.

The only real issue I have with them is when remasters are not outsourced, and take up valuable development time from devs; that could have been used to make new games.

I guess, but that never happens man, think about when you marry a nice girl and one year after you meet a even nicer girl...

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.
