Forums - Gaming - When do you predict the next PS3/X360 price cut?

All right, enough time is passed for this!   We need a price cut for these systems; it’s been way too long!

I think this holiday is a great time to have rock bottom prices for these consoles as both current gen systems (PS4&X1) have decent but not overwhelming line ups.  Cheaper PS3 and X360’s can pick up the slack on people who can’t afford to jump full steam ahead.

In the past, Sony announced price drops at Gamescom so maybe we’ll get one then?

Thoughts?  Predictions?

Yes, definitely this holiday. Both desperately need price cuts.

Duke of Playstation Plus

Warden of Platformers

Price cuts for both of them are long over do, I'm not quite sure why Sony and MS are holding onto their current prices for so long. Maybe by the end of the year we'll see an official price-cut.

2014, $99 for 4gb

No reason not to hold on to their prices. I honestly don't see MS/Sony announcing price cuts of them until such a time that they are also announcing cuts for the PS4/XB1.

They should go below 200 this year.

This holiday season would be the best time for a pricecut.

at this point probably a temporary cut over the holiday season instigaed by retailers rather than sony or microsoft, neither company really have any reason to further drop the price of their last gen systems now, all it would do is canabalize their newer systems sales.

Until of course they get dangerously close to EOL in which case an official pricecut would clear out remainin stocks.
