What did I miss? I'm talking about new IP's here, not the 100 mario games that automatically got 90's because the word Mario is there.

Nintendo since 2001, new IPs with 80+ Metascores, Pikmin and Animal Crossing excluded:
1. Eternal Darkness - 92 (GC) 2. Xenoblade Chronicles - 92 (Wii) 3. Sin & Punishment: Star Successor - 87 (Wii; second game, but the IP was new for the West.) 4. Wii Sports Resort - 80 (Wii; second game, new IP that didn't make it past the threshold with its first entry.) 5. Wii Fit - 80 (Wii) 6. The Last Story - 80 (Wii)
WiiWare games and handhelds removed from original list

Okay that's my bad, I should have clarified two more things:
1. that I only really meant home consoles...I didn't even look at Gameboy/DS/3DS. I'm a console gamer so I failed to consider/specify handhelds. Not dissing handhelds, but in my head I was really just thinking on GC (after 2001), Wii, and Wii U so far, they haven't done too much.
2. I also don't mean arcade games...I'm talking about retail full price games here, not $5-10 download games. Not saying they aren't fun or should be disregarded, but you can't really compare games you named like ArtStyle or Fluidity to Mario or Animal Crossing in terms of content and total quality. They might be fun and great value for the money but not what I meant.
Okay so first off, my apologies, even after all my revisions (handhelds/downloadable games) Nintendo does have 6 new franchises of 80%+ Metacritic quality since 2002. You got me. And even with top notch lame ass trolling, arguing that Wii Sports Resort and Sin and Punishment maybe shouldn't count....and noting that Eternal Darkness was 2002....I could say "okay big deal they have 3 home console new IP's over 80% in the past 11 years" but whatever that's still 3 and my original argument was off. I was wrong.
So I've admitted my argument was wrong, but still can you honestly say 6 80% (home console) new IP type games in the past 12 years is acceptable from a company that once graced our homes with the likes of Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Starfox, etc.? My point is simply what happened? Are they out of new ideas? Is all their attention on handhelds/motion control? Do they not care?
Conclusion/TL;DR/Whatever: I was wrong, you got me. They have a few new IP's since 2002 worth noting....and also handheld/WiiWare stuff if you want to count that. But my point stands, Nintendo is all but out of ideas, they don't make new series like they used to, and If I had been a Nintendo fan when I was younger, I can pretty much guarantee I wouldn't be now...I'd have moved on to Sony or MS during the 6th generation like most everybody else.
