Yeah one game that just barely hit 80. And it's a sequel.
I'm not trying to say Nintendo is a bad company or anything, clearly they have tons of great franchises...but the majority are from the 80's and 90's...did they just run out of good ideas or get lazy, or what?
On the other hand there's Sony, they don't have the heavyhitters like Mario or Zelda...but they keep coming out with great new first party series all the time. PS1 brought Gran Turismo, Twisted Metal, Crash Bandicoot, PaRappa the Rapper, Spyro.....PS2 brought ICO, Jak and Daxter, SOCOM, Ratchet and Clank, Killzone, God of War.....and the PS3 graced us with Uncharted, Last of Us, Resistance, LittleBigPlanet, Infamous, etc. Even if none of the games I just named are as good as Mario or Zelda that's still a shitton of good games each generation to keep fans happy. All I'm asking is don't you wish Nintendo did this? I know they aren't as big of a company as Sony, but they still have the resources for a couple new series each generation on top of all the classics.
Edit: They actually have upwards of 6 new IP's 80%+ as Rol pointed out to me. But my point stands.
