It's awesome because it's Nintendo.
It'd be a disgraceful business practice if anyone else.

You are literally the only person who is saying this. WTF are you trying to prove?

Relax... don't do it.

I ain't even mad.

I really don't mind this. It's a cheap aesthetic add on that adds no real value to a game. If people are going up in arms about this then I feel really sorry for you.

Regarding the pre-order DLC: Right now, this isn't Nintendo's doing, but Tecmo Koei's, who publish the game in Japan. If that practice makes it over to North America and Europe, then we'll have ourselves our first Nintendo pre-oder DLC. Wether that is a good thing or not is up to taste, I guess.

Tecmo Koei did this with Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge too.  At first they released pre-order bonus costumes, but then later made a patch to have the DLC content free for the Wii U version of the game. - http://ninjagaiden3.nintendo.com/patch.html

Nothing is really convincing me to buy this game, and this pre-order DLC stuff is just driving me away even more. In the end, this game is really nothing more than a Dynasty Warriors game with a Zelda skin.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

That literacy is still not universal. #partnersinreading

Because that's how the majority of Nintendo fans usually act?  They're not this time.  It's a close to July 4th miracle!

Or your preconceptions could be completely wrong.

No, you're right. Divine intervention is at work here.

We'll see if Nintendo follows suit when they publish it in the West. I'm not going to be happy about it if they start with preorder exclusive DLC.
I was not going to pick up Hyrule Warriors at launch anyway, and this won't convince me to do so. But I guess I'll miss out on it if I do pick it up late. Joy joy.

Most likely it will be available later for everyone who did not pre-order it, just that is not for free. Also is only a few customes, nothing that really affect the game, it is not a great practice but you have to admit that it will make a lot of people doubt about when to buy the game which it the purpose of the offer... think like with MK8, the free-game is not exactly a pre-order bonus (because it lasted 2 months) but is very close just on a bigger scale, and they did something similar for Fire Emblem on Japan.

I am going to buy this game day one and have a lot of fun with my wife on the co-op mode, after all she is the Zelda fan and I am just a bystander :D

Nintendo doesn't do DLC: "Nintendo should do DLC like everyone else and get with the program to bring more content to their games; they could be making more money!"

Nintendo does DLC: "Omg so STUPID, this is blasphemy, DLC is stupid, Nintendo has sunken to new lows!"

*sigh*
