Forums - Gaming - Video Games Will Become More Immersive Than Star Trek's Holodeck Eventually, Ubisoft Boss Says

Key word being "eventually" which I take meaning a long time from now.

Around the Network

I remember getting completely immersed playing games on the original gameboy. This whole thing is BS.

Holodeck plus realdolls?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Not in our lifetime. You could touch created objects in there.

Hmm, pie.

God! I already have spent close to 1500 dollars on my Wii U. How much is this going to cost now?

If you spent that much on a Wii U I geuss that it will be no problem for you to pay even more for a better experience.

I am too old for videogames. Once this gen is over, I think I will be done. But in a few decades, if holodecks and plastic/rubber pussy can help me relive my youth, I just may pay again.

Give the future more credit will you? It's not gonna be plastic or rubber. It's gonna be genetically engineered synthetic skin and flesh.

Pretty much this, unless we get some sort of life extension technology soon lol. (That also won't happen in our lifetime either, but it's cool to think about)

Ubisoft says alot of things

It doubt it will be Holodeck alike. More reasonable approach is injecting simulation directly to brain - fool it enough and we will think it's real, just like the dreams.

More immersive, just no women in it.
