What does what u wrote have to do with the perception of the wii in the future when people look back whether it use  motion controls or  motion gaming etc etc etc....my point was the wii will be remembered as the home console that sold the most in generation 7 all that other stuff you mentioned is irrelevant lol....not my fault you can't put these thoughts into a proper understanding and to your point why wasn't the attach rate the same from the ps2 to the ps3 half of the user base disappeared....some generations consoles will do well some won't it's as simple as that ....also the wii u isn't based on motion controls so it's different ...it's based on a gamepad and two screen gaming ...different console different results .....

And I disagree with your point entirely.  When people look back at the Wii they will recall it as the motion game system that happened to sell to the massively casual audience that never caught on with anyone else.  It was, in essence, an incredibly successful fad.  I can also tell you why that is.  People who look back at it will look at it from a gaming perspective.  The casual market will not look back at it as anything but that system they played back in the day.  Gamers will remember it as the system that caused the kinect and move things to happen and fail.

Also, I didn't make any of the points on attach rate.

?Kinect was very successful by the way .... .....you really think gamers not fanboys lol are gonna look back and say oh in the 7th generation wii was successful because of motion control gaming or that it  the best selling home console in the 7th generation come on now lol ...that's like me saying oh the playstation 2 was the best selling console in generation 6 because people used it mostly as a DVD player back then lol really lol

Kinect did catch on tho, it sold over 25 million and was the major reason the 360 peaked so late in 2010/2011.

The Kinect rode the success of the Wii into that timeframe.  The position it is in with the Xbox One shows that it was riding the motion control fad.

That is innovation not a fad lol iPhone was the first in innovation of that type of  smartphone all the other companies came out with their similar type of phones would you call that a fad no  ....nintendo stopped the motion control thing to try something new like the wiiu (gamepad off tv gaming etc things change and things evolve ...the gamepad still has motion control mechanics in its controller ,,,xbox one kinect ...Sony eye camera

I can play the semantic game too.  You are correct, the Kinect was very successful.  During the motion control fad that was started by the Wii.

Let me try to explain the difference in the PS2 vs. the Wii for your comparison.  Since the PS2 virtually every gaming machine has included DVD playback as a default option.  This is not a fad, this is a trend.  This is innovation.

Since the Wii, the only other "successful" motion control peripheral has been removed from its mandatory connection to it's console.  This indicates that motion control is not a trend, it is a fad.  This is not innovation.

If it's not an innovation  why does all the current generation have motion control ....and wii u doesn't have dvd playback nor did the wii  so your wrong .....

Am I the only one who thinks waggling as in Mario Galaxy or Donkey Kong returns is absolutely stupid, but like the wii mote as a gun for first person shooters? like in the metroid prime trilogy or the wii Remake of Resident Evil, wish we had seen more of that.

I mentioned the 3D fad before.  You can apply the same logic to the motion controls here as you can to why 3D movies came out between the time that it was a fad and the now when they have new and potentially long lasting 3D.  In case you can't apply it yourself though, here it is: they are hoping that they can get it to catch on again so that they can have that same success.  Again though, Xbox has already conceded that the Kinect isn't the be-all-end-all that they thought motion controls in gaming would be by removing it from the standard Xbox One.

Also, the fact that I said virtually every console does not mean that I said every console.  However, since you are breaking this down into a "I'm right you are wrong" immature pissing match instead of an actual debate, I am done here.

Yes waggle controls sucked but when used in a meaningful way motion controls arent bad.

Ahh but there was no mistake.  I said virtually every console since the PS2.  This means most consoles since the PS2.  The Wii and Wii U not having them is the exception to that.  Read the words typed, not the ones you want to focus on please.

Also, the Kinect was removed.  That is why there is not a bundle without.  To have something that started with become without, you must remove the item it is going to be without.
