Forums - Nintendo - Everything we know about Star Fox U

The episodic structure sounds interesting and could suite the series. I assume there'll still be (for the most part) an overall story arch.

My expectations are high.

Less like a movie and more like tv? What does that mean?

whats more concerning isits based on a 60s tv show menaing it will be as bad as a 60s tv show.

Based on Firefly would have been better.

I think they're talking about levels (Or groups of levels) having self contained plots with maybe an overall story arch tieing them together.

Thunderbirds was crap but there was some truely great 60's tv. The avengers and 60's era dr who kick firefly's ass.

As if Star Fox hadn't already been ruined enough..

And how the hell could a team at Nintendo spend 6 years "experimenting" with a straightforward franchise like Star Fox and not be able to accomplish anything??? Not every franchise has to try to re-invent the wheel for every installment.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

whatever they do they should have MORE free roaming and LESS on rails. (keep the on rails stuff for space but let every "planet level" be free roaming.

Not every franchises has to be conservative either. Starfox has a history of innovation with games like starfox 2 and starfox command. I don't see that as a bad thing as long as they keep sight on whats good about the starfox series. I personally would be dissapointed if all they came out with was 'New Star Fox 64' even though that would be fun (and great if it had four player coop). But it's a series that has so much potential and it'll takes innovation to fully realise it.

I only want more free roaming if they manage to make the free roaming parts half as fun as the on rail parts.

Star Fox Assault 2 ? xD

Hey don't click here ! It's creepy !!

I want a PlayStation All-Stars Sequel ! Come on Sony, stop making too many shooters !

I'll make a better signature when I'll have time to do it...

What someone said about combining the 64 game with the Gamecube game sounded interesting.

Space and air missions that have traditional gameplay.

While flying to many different planets and then leaving the ship for a platform/shooter type game with unique gameplay elements based on the unique geography/species on the planet.

ALmost wish it was like that tbh.

2 thing for sure: this will not be ready in a year, and the partner developer can make or break the game.

The question is, how many developer in the modern age are willing to pattern with nintendo and has any experience with space on-rail shooters?

Like, a whole lot? Platinum, Namco, Capcom, Sega, and many more less mainstream studioes?

Wich one of those made a space on-rail shooter in the last generation?

Treasure made Sin and Punishment 2 for Nintendo (not listed here, i know)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I hope it's a reboot...
I didn't play any of the games after SF64, but from what I hear, the series is a bit of a mess...

Have a nice day...
