Honestly, this. Some people think I'm a Sony and/or MS hater, but really I'm not. I may be an avid Nintendo lover, but I'm also a big believer in healthy competition that keeps everyone on their A-game. If Sony doesn't introduce the world to cross-buy across a console ecosystem in the first place, then there is no pressure on Nintendo to do the same.
