Stupid question, but the PlayStation TV is the VitaTV in Japan right?

Yes, the Vita has a bad name for itself in the west though so they dropped it.

It's more like they changed it to position it as a competitor to Apple TV and Fire TV. Despite that, the name Vita TV could make people believe it plays all Vita games while PS TV don't imply it and they can advertise it as a box that can play some Vita games.

Wow, they really are killing the Vita. If PSTV is cheaper and can play Vita and PSnow games, and all the PS1 games will be avalible and the other machines, nobody is going to pay 100$ (or €) more for a bunch of games with touch controlls.

You realize it is a PS Vita, right? Same SoC, same RAM, same cards, same SDK? It's not like companies could stop making Vita games and do PS TV games. All games that run on PS TV run on Vita, even if the exact opposite isn't true.

And I cant find a new PSP for less than $100, cmon Sony drop that MSRP.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Day 1 for me.... the fact that its 100$ and its compatible with PSP and PSone titles makes all the difference for me

Day 1 for me too.

Only a 100$ and can play some Vita games and PSP games? That's not bad. Black Friday and other holiday sales will make it even cheaper.

considering buying this just to play uncharted GA hopefully its compatible

I'm pretty sure it's not.

I might buy the PS tv bundle. I want to play Persona 4 Golden.

you won’t even have to own a Vita to play the games that will be part of that Playstation now service. Isn’t that cool?

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

The only problem PSTV solves from the Vita is one of price. Library is even more lackluster, memory cards are still expensive. Cheap does not mean compelling.

I am seriously considering buying it to hook it up to my monitor at work.
