Which year do you think will have higher sales. 2011 or 2014? Even though the 3DS launched about 3 months into 2011, it managed to sell over 13 million that year according to vgchartz. This year has shown sales similar to those of 2011, but the predicted number of 3DS units to sell this year is 12 million. With all the great games released the last 3 years and Smash Bros/Pokemon Hoenn Remakes on the horizon I don't see how it could sell less than in 2011, considering too that it's had the full year of 2014 to sell.

2014 has Pokémon AR/OS and Smash. That will sell like hotcakes in christmas. 2011 didn't have that many games. Now the library is very solid.

Not only Smash. & Pokemon, but also a possible price cut, since last year actually a cheaper model. And Japan also has YW2 and (correct me if I'm wrong) MH4U late this year. So 2014 > 2011.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
